Amanda Knox

I see there is another Amanda Knox series out on Hulu/Disney. I've always followed the case closely. But I have mixed feelings. At first I thought Amanda was involved in the murder but as time has gone on, there isn't a shred of proof (from a DNA pov) against her. But should she continue to make money from the case? I feel deeply sorry for Meredith's family. As her sister Stephanie said, Meredith is the 'forgotten victim' in this. I understand she did spend 4 years behind bars and wants to be vindicated - and she does help other innocent victims who have been jailed - but I feel it's too much now and that Meredith is being lost in it all. What do you think?

I don't know what JFC is.
You mean that she DID do yoga? That's what she says. Others said she did cartwheels so without a video is her word against theirs isn't it?
I find neither to be normal.

As I have said, this has nothing to do with whether she's guilty or not and I recognise that she is innocent and don't blame her for making money from documentaries.

Yes, I’ve edited my post - I meant she DID do yoga.

I’ve asked a few times but you haven’t answered - what is normal? And what do odd reactions tell us about a person? Do they tell us that they are

  1. A cold blooded killer who magically removes DNA from a crime scene.
  2. A normal, probably quite immature person who is in extreme shock

Wonder which one it could be

I know half of MN roll their eyes at any mention of neurodiversity, but I highly suspect Knox is ND. It would explain the “socially incorrect” responses and apparent lack of empathy. I don’t know if she has been diagnosed, but she screams neurodiversity to me.

As an ND woman myself with processing delay, who often struggles to portray the “correct” emotional responses to things, and has been described as cold in the past due to this, I live in fear of being caught in the wrong place at the wrong time. I’d be in prison before I could breathe.

Applebun · 21/08/2025 20:14

The evidence is - people in the police station with her , said that they saw her doing cartwheels.

And she said she didn’t. She said she did yoga.

We will never know - but what does it matter? Is it the hallmark of a murderer or a weirdo?

Fluffyholeysocks · 21/08/2025 20:20

I found Amanda and her reaction to Meredith's death distinctly odd. Although she was found innocent, i thought her to be unsympathetic and unlikeable.

ImGoingUpstairsToTakeOffMyHat · 21/08/2025 20:20

Gwenhwyfar · 21/08/2025 20:15

Well people are saying she was doing yoga so that would be a 'positive' wouldn't it? They could still provide a video. I would stiff find that odd and also irrelevant to her innocence.

I’m sure if there was a video we’d have seen it.

Yet we haven’t. Just like there’s no straddling and snogging videos either!

She definitelty has a lack of empathy and is a cold person

I saw an interview Amanda Knox did much later on.

In it she said that after hearing about Meredith's murder she didn't think about Meredith at all, she thought about herself. She thought "thankfully it wasnt me"

She said that only when she had a child herself did she think more about meredith and what merediths parents went through

Do you think the police made it up? Genuine question. Why would they do that?

SomeOfTheTrouble · 21/08/2025 20:22

Applebun · 21/08/2025 20:18

So what?

Because how a person acts after a death, has identified a killer in many cases.

That is why people looked at Amanda's behaviour after merediths death.

I wouldnt do cartwheels in a police station after my room mate was murdered

She didn’t kill her though, so her behaviour after the incident didn’t tell them anything useful.

ImGoingUpstairsToTakeOffMyHat · 21/08/2025 20:22

Applebun · 21/08/2025 20:15

Amanda knox is definitely a bit odd and OTT.

But in my opinion, she was not a murderer

And therein is the issue. (Not with you per se but how women are viewed)

The misogyny in so many circles is so very strong that a women who isn’t jolly or lovely, or is a bit self centered and spoilt (which I think she was like many 19/20yo women) is akin to being a murderer. Many places in Italy are extremely right wing and conservative and are deeply offended by a woman who is sexual and doesn’t hide it. It was all about punishing her for not being the right kind of woman and nothing to do with justice for Meredith

Applebun · 21/08/2025 20:23

LeticiaMorales · 21/08/2025 20:21

I rememeber reading that meredith's friends who were in the police station, also said that Amanda did cartwheels.

So the police said it, and merediths friends said it.

FKAT · 21/08/2025 20:23

Could any PPs who believe in the truth of the Italian police and prosecutor's evidence DM me? I've got a bridge I'd like to sell you,

Normal is obviously a bit subjective, but I don't consider doing cartwheels in a police station to be normal or immature. I don't know if it's a sign of extreme shock because I haven't witnessed that much.

Is it a sign of a cold blooded killer? No, obviously not. Why are you even asking me that? I've stated in multiple posts that I don't think she's guilty so why the question???

Why do you refuse to consider they did exist, just cos you didn't see them?

I saw it at the time, a documentary, news report whatever. I vividly remember her straddling her boyfriend and dicking about. Why would I make it up?

I asked ChatGpt why I can't find the video:

Why you can’t easily find it now
The footage is owned by Italian broadcasters, so it isn’t freely distributed online.

You’ll only see it inside licensed productions (like Netflix’s documentary or news specials), not as a standalone YouTube clip.

Some short clips have been uploaded over the years, but many get taken down due to copyright.

hangerup · 21/08/2025 20:23

Amanda obviously has the right to talk about her side but she has already I believe .

I feel for the Kerchers, it must be horrible to have your loved one's murder dragged up every few years for entertainment.

ImGoingUpstairsToTakeOffMyHat · 21/08/2025 20:24

Goingncforthisone · 21/08/2025 20:17

Italian police who swore under oath in court?

Chief Superintendant Giacinto Profazio’s Testimony
According to official trial records, during the original proceedings, Chief Superintendant Giacinto Profazio testified:

“In the police station, she turned a cartwheel and did the splits.”

The same Italian police who are demonstrably corrupt, misogynistic and convicted an innocent women? Yeah sure will defo believe them.

Lets pretend she did do cartwheels - so what

NautilusLionfish · 21/08/2025 20:26

It's difficult. They are both victims in different ways. In some ways Amanda is unsympathetic but she is a victim of injustice. She wants to tell her story but it's also Meredith's story and the two can't be untangle. As @twilightermummy said Amanda is also sexualised. That is why the story is told over and over again with little thought of Meredith's family. That in itself is not Amanda's fault. With so much public record it can be told many times without her involvement.

It's sad all around.

PS: if sexualisation wasnt part of the many documentaries, there would be many such stories since Amanda is not the only person or woman wrongly jailed

usedtobeaylis · 21/08/2025 20:26

Is it also not the case that they only knew each other for a couple of months before she was murdered?

ImGoingUpstairsToTakeOffMyHat · 21/08/2025 20:27

You wouldn’t have a CLUE what you’d do.

I didn’t think I’d take a bubble bath as soon as I found out my dad suffered a violent and sudden death. But I did.

But what does you think doing cartwheels tell us about a person? About a 20yo woman who never hurt a fly before?
Does it tell us she’s a cold blooded and magical murdered? Or does it tell us she’s young, in extreme shock and that this is probably the first time in her life she ever had a real problem?

LeticiaMorales · 21/08/2025 20:27

Was the odd behaviour down to drugs? Rudy was known to her and Sollecito because RG was a drug dealer..
Correct me if I'm wrong..

That sounds like a pretty normal response for an emotionally immature teenager tbh.

And most people can’t comprehend the pure, unadulterated, gut-wrenching horror of losing a child until they have one of their own.

Yes, I think that's a very good point. Wasn't she given the nickname "Foxy Knoxy"?

God me too.

I not diagnosed ND, but I’m pretty sure I tick a box somewhere, so to speak. I struggle to express empathy and need to remind myself to do it when someone is sad. I don’t react in the way I see other people react.

How do you know what i have been through?

I had a friend that was murdered when I was a teenager actually. I didn't do a cartwheel!

Im allowed to have my opinion of amanda.

I think she is odd, weird, has a lack of empathy (I've seen a later interview amanda did where she said she felt nothing for Meredith after she died) and she has narcissistic traits.

I don't think she is a murderer
