Some of my summer jigsaws, a map of Manchester, a pic of Whitby harbour and a load of seashells. All 1000pc and took about a day each.

I haven't posted for ages on the old thread but liked seeing it pop up in TIO. I am an occasional jigsaw-completer, I tend to do them in winter or on holiday in the evenings, always 500 pieces as our table is small and even those take me several days. My most recent was this Paris one.

I've not read the thread for ages it's just come up. Last year I discovered another brand of jigsaw called Happily. I've the got a few now. Only downside is that they are a bit more expensive than other brands. Around £18.99 for 1000 pieces. But. they're really colourful and well made. Anyone else tried these.

Ooh thanks for the recommendation! That brand seems really my vibe! Hopefully they’ll release a 500 piece version soon because at the moment I don’t have the time for a 1000 piece puzzle.

I’ll be following and living vicariously through everyone else on this thread for a while. I have a 4 month old so this is the only type of puzzle I’ve been able to solve recently and it’s not really the same 😂

@toastofthetownthat reminds me of the joke (variously attributed to George W Bush and Donald Trump)
”The jigsaw said 2-4 years on the box, and I finished it in only a week!”

Hahaha, showing my age but we used Victoria Beckham as the punchline when I was at school which seems harsh in hindsight. Not sure what she did to deserve being such a punchbag. I’d say Trump is a better target but 2-4 years seems a bit optimistic for him to solve a puzzle - he’d probably get frustrated and blow it up!

I did jigsaws overseeing DS2 at internet school and loved where’s wally. Here is 3000 piece.

@PocketSand what size table or surface do you need for a 3000 piece puzzle?

PocketSand · 18/08/2025 20:53

I had a puzzle felt mat with an inflatable roll so I just used the dining table and rolled it up in between. They work really well.

I've just completed this one which my son bought me last year but I waited until it was sunny to do it. I can't do jigsaws 'out of season' so wouldn't do a Christmas jigsaw at any other time than December. This one annoyingly has a piece missing but don't worry, I located it under the sofa earlier. I have a jigsaw board that folds and I slip it under the sofa to keep the cats off it.

Thanks for the new thread, I haven’t done a jigsaw since we got our puppy in April. I’m missing doing them, but pretty sure if I opened one up pieces would be stolen and chewed up.

This is what I’m very slowly working on

Just finished this one - got a few in to start as the evenings draw in! Really enjoyed it.

I’ve finally got around to doing another puzzle. Don’t think I’ve done one since the start of the year due to a puppy joining our family and also putting our house on the market early Summer and moving a few weeks ago.
Did this in six hours on Saturday night, quickest I’ve ever completed a 1000
piece puzzle.

I’ve just been redoing various older jigsaws as a vague excuse to put the pieces in sandwich bags inside the box to reduce the chance of finding random lost pieces under the jigsaw shelves. Not got photos though.

Here's a section of mine. A couple 1000 piece, a 500 and a 250 wooden Wentworth. I wonder if you can tell what my favourite theme is. 🤔 😂 🐦🌳🐿️

The flower one was a bugger. I still have the globe on display. Not a great pic because I cropped from larger image.

Love the puffins, but I wouldn't even start the flower one! I know when I'm beaten. I just gave up on a medieval fresco one - no poster so I needed a magnifying glass to see box lid details. Not fun.

TangerinePlate · 04/11/2025 19:14

I briefly came back to jigsaws last year when I moved and gained some space.
Then I acquired 2 cats so jogsaws went to the box.
Bought several boxes on Vinted then cursed the sellers as some of them had bits missing
until I discovered my autistic DS doesn’t like certain shapes and was throwing them out of the window 🙄🤦‍♀️

Beautiful pieces of art above and on last thread, I’m afraid I’m 500-1000 pieces persons mainly HOP and Ravensburger

AzureCats · 04/11/2025 19:30

@TangerinePlate dont get me started on cats 😂 we hid our puzzles from the cat in another room but he still found them and sat on them when half done. He's very fluffy so I'm not convinced some loose pieces didn't get lost in his luscious belly fur!

InMySpareTime · 10/11/2025 07:09

A couple of jigsaws this week. The linocut one was annoying because only 1/3 of the picture was on the front of the box.
Even more annoyingly, when I tipped out the last few pieces from the bottom of the box I saw the whole picture there 🤦‍♀️

I didn’t realise there was an ongoing jigsaw thread ! This is the one I finished last night. Panoramas don’t fit on my puzzle board so I have to do them on the dining table. My son likes this as we eat on the sofa in front of the tv until I’ve finished it! Unlucky for him this only took the weekend
