Personally I think it's worth keeping an eye on the hyperbole as it has a terrible tendency to become reality.
Trump has established that the powers of the president are above the constitution. After he. he's elected, so any opposition is a direct affront to THE WILL OF THE PEOPLE.
Eventually, SCOTUS, who greased the slipway to launch this titanic take on the powers of POTUS will find themselves unable to prevent it sailing without them. And that will be their wicked day.
The US self consciously and totally without pause for contemplation (I guess the sugar rush of winning the freedom to dodge taxes was too heady) modelled themselves after the Roman republic. (And this in itself is probably a good reason to be glad the UK removed classical learning as a pre requisite for power).
The problem is it seems no one got past chapter 1 and read how the Roman Republic fell. Slowly at first, and then all at once.
There is only one question really. If Trump is Caesar, who is Augustus ?
