There seem to be a lot of professionals here but I’m sure we have a wide mix.

I’m a Nutritional Therapist working with a GP. I specialise in metabolic therapy.

Interesting, challenging, rewarding, and I get to be bossy and chat to brainy people and be paid for the privilege.

CEO of a brand agency, merging in 2026 and I’m going back to uni to career change into a medical role. 🫣

What are you retraining into? And how old are you (if you don’t mind me asking!)?

I’m mid-30s and would love to completely change career, but I keep thinking of reasons why I can’t (mainly financial reasons, but also I’m an expat and my visa is tied to my specific job).

I would love to hear about your career change plans!

KeebabSpider · 15/08/2025 06:53

Manager in social housing. More recently most of my workload is dealing with safeguarding because statutory services are failing in their duty.

I'm 52 but this will be my last job. I've done stints in Health, SW and education. However the only time I've been happy is studying and my real interest lies in politics and economics. I will retire in the next year. There are two ways of thinking about social ills, one is to help individuals within existing structures adapt or survive, the other is to try and drive change at a structural level. I've realised the former is like nailing jelly to a wall.

Snap @beachwalkx

Vehicle after sales here, too. Admin.

I've also self-published a novel. The first in a trilogy. I'm not sure if that counts! I did have an email recently from someone asking when the second book comes out, and they referred to themselves as a fan. Almost cried. I might've only made £80 so far, but I have a fan! And it isn't my mother!

Mumofyellows · 15/08/2025 06:58

I lead a unit for children with complex SEND within a special school, and am a safeguarding lead. I also volunteer as a wildlife rescuer.

@Crushed23im starting a degree in radiography in 2026, having to do an access course online via keen direct first, and then 3 years. Oh and im 50! There is a shortage apparently so the shred is part funded. But it’s the first time I’ve been able to consider the financial drop as I’m the main earner. Happy to chat more.
