Lots! Usually just summary notes that go on to be typed up fully in work .
i also write letters to older relatives, birthday and Christmas cards, shopping lists etc

StrongandNorthern · 14/08/2025 13:01

Quite a lot - (endless) lists, cards, postcards, letters, planning for projects.
Loads actually.

WillYouDoTheFandango · 14/08/2025 13:03

Often. Work to do lists that I forget to refer to multiple times per week and then a food shopping list on the weekend.

Abracadabra12345 · 14/08/2025 13:03

As a keen penpaller - a lot! As well as my journal and general notes

WaltzingWaters · 14/08/2025 13:04

Very rarely now. I used to have very near handwriting but it’s awful now!

snowlaser · 14/08/2025 13:19

Every day - we keep a list on the fridge of things to buy when going shopping, so I add to that every day!

Cherrysoup · 14/08/2025 13:23

Lists of stuff to do.
Marking, but we do summaries as opposed to deep marking. Great big long comments are lost on kids who just want to know their mark, so we might do EBI or WWW, pre-printed on the printed GCSE bullet pointed instructions.

SisSuffragette · 14/08/2025 15:23

I love making lists, both at home and at work. At work I give written feedback on documents given to me and short messages on post it notes. I wrote birthday and Christmas cards but only to immediate family and parties we or my children have been invited to

Hardly ever

I have over 10 A4 notebooks full of my foreign language notes.

LastKnownSurvivor · 14/08/2025 15:24

Every day - I keep a paper diary.

Eyesopenwideawake · 14/08/2025 15:26

At the moment I am learning Portuguese (for the millionth time!) so doing a LOT of writing.

Meadowfinch · 14/08/2025 15:27

Meeting notes, most work days. Plus if I'm writing a social media post or blog, I write it out long hand and then type it up.

Milliejacksonhouseforsale · 14/08/2025 15:43

Weekly.. shopping list.
Appointments for both of us.
Date and where meets.

Mumsntfan1 · 14/08/2025 15:46

Hmm, I signed my new credit card. With a pen from work as I don't have one at home.

Ekkekkkeekkkekk · 14/08/2025 15:46

Daily.

I journal. I bought myself a Caran D’ache fountain pen in Geneva a few years ago and it’s a joy to use.

FastFood · 14/08/2025 15:48

Every single day

MrsEndeavourMorse · 14/08/2025 15:53

Most days, always when at work plus lists and diary stuff at home

Sgtmajormummy · 14/08/2025 15:54

Several times a day. I use a Kakeibo (spending diary), fridge meal planner, daily to-do list and have a notebook in my handbag(s). I take notes during work and have a project-based system for those which is just a glorified ring binder.

I used to do proofreading and I still annotate books I’m studying, with a 4-point pen. Blue for first reading, pencil for things to look up, black for cross-references, red for academic opinions.

But I take pictures or screenshot stuff I see on t’Interweb. I’m not a complete Luddite!

DancingLions · 14/08/2025 16:19

I make lists all the time. There's nothing like the satisfaction of manually ticking something off! I need it to motivate me. A phone list just isn't the same.

I also write in my diary, appointments and what not. Again, I've tried phone calendars but don't like them.

1AnotherOne · 14/08/2025 16:20

About four times a week. At work - post it notes, order forms, registers. Nothing much though.

citychick · 14/08/2025 16:23

Still using and writing everything in my Filofax. Love it.

TaborlinTheGreat · 14/08/2025 16:27

I'm a teacher, so daily during term time and quite often during the holidays. For work I use a digital calendar but I still use a paper planner and mark lots of (but not all) work by hand.

AuldWeegie · 14/08/2025 16:28

Every day. Everything unless there’s no alternative but to send text or email or school forms. Otherwise, I write because I remember better that way, and I can keep track of my lists and I write in my diary daily.

TheDandyLion · 14/08/2025 16:28

Only for journalling several times a week. Notes and lists are all electronic.

mynameiscalypso · 14/08/2025 16:29

I write a lot at work. I always have my pad with me and take handwritten notes of all calls/meetings (and I have lots) plus I prepare presentations, draft speeches, outline papers I’m going to write by hand. I find it very hard to start with a blank word document but so much easier to start with a blank piece of paper. I’ve just chucked away all my handwritten prep notes for a radio interview I did earlier today!
