Does anyone use Hello Fresh?

I just received our first box. Either we eat grossly huge portions or they appear to think I'm feeding toddlers as opposed to adults? This is the chicken portion and mashed potatoes for 3 people. Is this normal?

Gousto so much better, better recipes by far.
Give those a try next 😀

I just found the Gusto recipes so much faff compared to Hello Fresh - I don't know why!

Also it annoyed me how Gusto just chuck everything in the box and you have to sort it all out yourself. That said, Hello Fresh have just started to do the same 🙄

I tried it a few times, with the box for two people. Unfortunately, the portions seemed tiny even when consumed by one person... but perhaps that is because I have a very physical job! It also seemed to work out as being quite expensive in comparison to my normal shop, and I wasn't keen on having noodles/rice/potatoes every day.

Such a waste of money

That'd cost around six quid in a supermarket

I think you are missing the point of it. You are paying for the convenience but also mainly for a variety of recipes that you wouldn't necessarily think of cooking for yourself, particularly for a one person household (another omelette, anyone?).The weeks I get it I don't,go to the supermarket so actually save quite a lot of money as I don't buy all those extra bits & bobs.

I find the portions just right, usually enough for lunch next day too, for me for work, very little waste and I actually spend less on food shop. Very occasionally I have added something like sausages to bulk out a pasta dish to make it go a little further if we want extra.
