what’s going on with Brooklyn Beckham?

jallyj · 12/08/2025 10:37

so he’s done a vow renewal after only getting wed in 2022 and none of his siblings or parents were there, just seems to have been organised by his billionaire wife’s parents. It looks like a very deliberate fuck you to his family. What can they have done to deserve such shocking treatment? It’s bizarre. And let’s hope the marriage to the (reportedly prickly, hard work) billionaire works, so he doesn’t have to come crawling back to Mum and Dad………

It's sad. Whatever you think of david and victoria they have always seemed like devoted, and for celebrities, very present parents.

I think the Peltz family seem odd and he's been swept in.

But how do you know they were devoted parents? Did you live in their house?

We only see what they want us to see - the perfectly curated family - Brand Beckham. Unless you lived with them you do not know what goes on behind closed doors. None of us do.

All I know is that something serious has gone on and to have cut off your family- played out in full view of the media - is not nice. Was it justified? I guess we’ll never know. However he is going to be well and truly screwed once she’s milked his surname and publicity for all it’s worth and then spits him out. Confused

I imagine his parents are waiting quietly in the wings for this to happen. Because it will!

ThedaBara · 12/08/2025 13:00

I thought the 'rift' was caused by D and V cutting BB off after the wedding, refusing to pay for a flat for him and telling him he has a responsibility to support his wife and family. And Nicola's family telling him how outrageous that was and immediately buying them a home. I do believe that d and v do expect their kids to get jobs, and bb just never will, will he

user1471538283 · 12/08/2025 13:00

The shine of playing house wore off so they needed something to keep busy. When this excitement wears off they will need something else or the whole thing will collapse.

Neither of them have any sense of purpose. Brooklyn has no talent, intellect or interest in anything. But yet he thinks he's so brilliant at it all. That photography book ...

Also did anyone see VB's hairdo at their wedding? I saw the photos again in the recent articles, it was embarrassing. Seriously if my 'fashion designer' millionaire MIL turned up to my wedding in her trademark nightie and with a mum bun with hair sticking out in all different directions, I'd know full where where I am in her pecking order and she'd not be at my future celebrations either 😂

Wow. I doubt your mother in law would want to be anywhere near you tbh.

Luckily for me she's very far away, thank god! 😂

Flatulence · 12/08/2025 13:02

It's a sad situation, whatever might have happened behind the scenes. Perhaps there was good reason why he doesn't seem to want to talk to his parents. Who knows. But cutting off your siblings too and seemingly your grandparents as well would take something truly horrendous, surely?

I always think it's interesting how the Beckhams are great mates with the Ramsays and yet the adult Ramsay kids all seem to have their heads screwed on and have jobs/qualifications (his son's an officer in the Royal Marines and there's no faking that, and one of his daughters is a police officer which - again - isn't some easy job where your name gets you a pass). I suppose Brooklyn's trajectory is the net result of growing up in the public eye and finding yourself with no real interests, skills or direction.

I'm also quite impressed Brooklyn and Nicola have lasted as long as they have; they both seem quite vacant so probably a good match after all.
But renewing one's vows after three years is madness.

TheBabyFatmoss · 12/08/2025 13:02

History repeating itself. There was a lot of talk about Victoria trying to cut out David’s family when they were first married.

jumpingthehighjump · 12/08/2025 13:02

I don't think D&V expect their kids to get jobs... if they do, why give BB £1Million car when he reached 18? They just shower them with money. No incentive.

As for the gin and tonic, I had to go and look! He is obviously being paid by the gin brand and Schweppes.
It was Monkey47 gin, tonic squirted out of a gun, lime, cucumber, rosemary, mint... there was hardly enough room for the gin!

TheNinkyNonkyIsATardis · 12/08/2025 13:04

JoeTheDrummer · 12/08/2025 11:46

I don’t think the Beckhams are great parents though. They know all too well the downsides of being in the public eye - they’ve both had death threats at various times, including against their kids. Yet they still pushed their kids into the limelight from an early age, and given them zero chance of a normal childhood (or as ‘normal’ as possible given their wealth). Other celebrities have managed to keep their children’s lives private, so it is doable when they’re still kids. Then when they’re adults they have more chance of not being so fucked up,

This.

The only reason people think they're good parents is because of the continual pushing of Brand Beckham since the kids were babies.

We don't know what most celebrity families are like because they aren't shoving the idea of the perfect family as a brand down our throats.

My mum was a little-known lifestyle journalist three decades ago and I'm still pissed at the way she exposed us. Lord only knows what the Beckham kids feel about it.

Tablesandchairs23 · 12/08/2025 13:04

He's seem as attention seeking and limelight loving as his parents. Maybe there's no room for all the egos.

I thought VB looked nice. I bet if she went elaborate with a giant hat etc people would be saying she was trying to outshine the bride.

I haven't seen it but I'm guessing its
get a glass
put some ice in it
pour out some gin
Top glass up with tonic
Add slice of lime

I had to Google it to settle my curiosity. He puts cucumber in it, which makes it "experimental" which is something he really enjoys doing with drinks. Apparently.

I see a PP also mentioned the infamous photography career so I think the thread needs the obligatory elephant masterpiece 🤦😂.

I thought she looked lovely would she rather she tried something more glamorous to upstage the bride?

HonoriaBulstrode · 12/08/2025 13:06

They [DB and VB] thought they were making sure [their kids] didn't have to work like they did

I've said before on other threads, it does young people no favours to grow up knowing they'll never have to work for a living. By all means fund their education, or their training if they're seriously committed to a trade or profession or vocation and are willing to put in the hard graft, but otherwise, let them make their own way.

It’s odd but also fascinating. They are like birds in a gilded cage, fluttering aimlessly about whilst shitting all over the place. Poor Posh.

Why 'poor Posh'? Why are people assuming that the Beckhams are in the right? I always thought that the way she was pictured all draped over Brooklyn was weird and creepy. I don't understand people who idolise the Beckhams.

David fell out with his dad for two years and only reconciled when his dad had a health scare.

For the record, I think her make up was beautiful and the dress colour really suits her, lovely material too. But the rest was far below where she should be, it's not about outshining the bride but about some sophistication that was missing.

They are just bored and looking for a new photo opportunity to keep themselves relevant. I don't see how anyone would want to renew their vows after only a couple of years.

When they aren't relevant in the first place..

CalamityGanon · 12/08/2025 13:15

JudgeJ · 12/08/2025 11:56

Not sure if 'they' are erasing the Beckhams or 'she' is erasing the Beckhams but he needs to realise that if/when she gets fed up of him it's the Beckhams that will still be there. I can perceive of a situation where there has been a big blow up with his parents but to also cut off his siblings is unfair. Her family seem very very controlling, is her father qualified to renew their vows?

Renewing vows means nothing. I don’t think you need to be ‘qualified’ as it has no legal standing. I assume your cat could do it if you so wished 😂

GeorgeMichaelsCat · 12/08/2025 13:15

They're the new Harry and Meghan

cheezncrackers · 12/08/2025 13:18

The pair of them are pathetic, attention-seeking nonentities. Without his parents' fame and her parents' wealth, they'd just be another couple of chavs on Insta.

Tbf to Brooklyn tho would have been a strange position for him with his brother dating someone he was previously with …

I mean who would like that ?

Except he's not with someone his brother dated.

But if you think that what else should she have worn/done to be more sophisticated ?

The comparison with Gordon Ramsey and Jamie Oliver’s families are missing one thing - in both cases there was a parent who (broadly) stayed out of the public eye. Tana Ramsey and Jools Oliver both had certain public projects but they generally kept themselves and their families private.

I am surprised the Beckhams haven’t kept their younger children’s lives more private
