Good Morning Mumsnet! What's everyone up to today?

I'm just drinking my first cuppa, snuggled up with girl cat 😊 a very rare occurrence! Neither of the girls are up yet, I don't think. I haven't heard any movement.

Our only plan for the day is to walk to Lidl & call via the pub for a pint in their yard on the way home. It's my dad's birthday today, so he may call to pick up his present on his way from lunch with a friend.

I'll see if the girls fancy doing anything with the afternoon but they usually say no. Other than that, it'll be crafting for me - I might continue my paint by numbers, or start the last set of peg dolls for my previous class.

We're having roast pork for tea, with roast spuds and veg 😋 followed by fruit & yogurt with chocolate (sort of a diy corner yogurt).

After that it'll be my usual Self-Care-Sunday scrubby everything shower, followed by a couple of hours with my book before bed.

I have been up a while as usual. Had a cuppa and did my puzzles. Then had breakfast and another cuppa. Then went out for my walk. Just sitting with a glass of water before I go upstairs to start getting bedrooms ready for my sister and her family who arrive tomorrow. So some dusting, de-cobwebbing (we get so many spiders) and bed making and vacuuming this morning.

This afternoon I’m helping DH sort out and tidy the patio and garden as the weather forecast is so nice I think we will be outside a lot. If I’m brave enough I might tackle the shed a bit. Also spider central.

We are having a baked ham for dinner with roast potatoes, carrots and peas. I feel like we should be having salads but there would be a revolt.

Today I need to tidy up as I have a gas safety check booked for tomorrow

Turns out the heating isnt working so fingers crossed, it will be sorted with that one visit 🙏

Sat down to watch Sunday Brunch for now (line up looks okay, I really fancy this huge chef sat on the left 🤭)

And later i might also have a shower and try to read Harry Potter 6

morning! We are away at the moment and about to go out and have a stroll for some breakfast or will be more like brunch by the time we get somewhere and eat.
Then think we are going to find a boat ride this afternoon and a pub to sit in the garden for a sunny pint before going for dinner.

We are just back from 3 weeks in the US so jet lagged this morning. Not sure what we will do today. I want to get the girls out for some fresh air etc. but everyone’s still sound asleep! I’m feeling exhausted to be honest. DH has gone to get us a coffee and some breakfast.

....and I've just bought another 4 books (used) from awesome books for £10!
My tbr pile is getting out of hand 😬

Had a lie in today which was lovely. DH and DS appeared and brought me scrambled eggs and toast and a cup of tea. Bliss.

We are going swimming this afternoon to a pool in another town. All looking forward to that. DS has asked to sleep at granny’s tonight so will be dropped off there. No doubt to be spoilt.

We are having roast beef tonight. Can’t wait. I need to tidy the kitchen and hoover everywhere. DH just got the hoover fixed. Can’t imagine how much cat and dog hair will come up 🙈

Usual dog walks. DD has been very helpful recently with that. I also want to finish off my book.

Sorted another wash out
Cooking Spanish Chicken in the slow cooker to have later with roast potatoes broccoli and peas
Dh is away with work back home later
Dd has work this afternoon
Might have another coffee and read my book before I hoover
No plans for the rest of the day just pottering around at home and will take the dog for a walk this evening

Myself and DH were in the gym for 8:30. We did an hour in the weights room and then came home and made breakfast. Poached eggs, bacon and a slice of Dillon Organic Keto bread.

We’re heading to The Range because I want to find a nice LED light for the back end of the kitchen so we can have some light without turning on the big light.

We’re having pesto chicken with garlicky green beans for our second meal today. Then TV and I’ll be crocheting while we watch. I’m making this Outlander wrap for my sister (that’s not me in the photo, it’s the pattern writer) 😁

I've been for my Saturday run and chat with my friend a day late since Dh and I were away yesterday for my 50th birthday treat - he planned it as a complete surprise, which shows the meds are working; he would have been far too anxious to do that even 6 months ago. That was as much a treat as the actual night away tbh.

It's already warm here, so I'm drinking coffee in the garden, mustering the energy to go for a shower.

Dh is lighting the bbq ready to cook a joint of pork on it for lunch - we're having it hog roast style with apple sauce, stuffing and rolls.

I'm picking my dm up in a while and taking her to the garden centre before bringing her back here for lunch.
Ds1 is working, as far as I know ds2 is in, although he's not surfaced yet.

Not much else planned for today except chilling in the garden.

Good morning @lucysmam & the Sunday crew. Beautiful day here in Cornwall. Avoiding the beaches until September but will top up my tan in the back garden later. Awake since 5 ish so may well crash! Cuppa in bed with DH & I may have had a snack size twix with mine. I did the dishwasher when I brewed the tea so just have washing to hang out, although DH will probably do it before he cleans the rabbit hutches. Kitchen surfaces need a wipe. I have done some washing up - there was an enamel dish used to cook sausages which has been next to the sink for a week! Started taking some supplements with sage & red clover as although I’m officially through the menopause, I’m still suffering with hot flushes. Rubbish at remembering to take stuff usually but determined this time as it’s really not pleasant 🥵 Off for another bra fitting this afternoon. Spent over £50 on 3 bras in 2 different sizes which are uncomfortable even with an extender. Hopefully I will have a competent measurer this time! Looking forward to tea tonight which is ribeye steaks, chips, peas & breaded mushrooms. DD16 will sort herself out. No sign of her yet but she’s texted me. She might come with us to M & S. Good morning! Absolutely loving my day off after 6 very long work days, though they were quite satisfying so that’s positive. I got up eventually and did a YouTube workout then have stopped for a coffee before heading off to see my mum. Dp has already walked to the Coop and back to get his steps in and is now gearing up to do a bit of gardening and play some Civilisation.

We have too many potatoes and courgettes so dinner will be ‘potato and courgette surprise’ in some form.

Just got back from taking the dog for a walk - I get a coffee on the way. About to hoover then we’re out to a local EH place with the in-laws. Tonight I’ll cook something involving chicken breasts, bath the kids then start a new book.

I’m struggling with hot flushes too. Awful isn’t it 😩If you don’t mind saying, may I ask where you bought your supplements? I may follow suit ( though am also rubbish at remembering to take things!)

I was awake for a few hours very early in the morning, so Mr Dilemma brought me some breakfast around 6.30 and then I went back to sleep and have only just woken up!

We had a lovely lunch yesterday but my family weren't here for very long and we ended up going out to get a new kitchen tap when they went home. I was hoping to get a really nice one with a pull out spray, but the one I wanted, which was very affordable, wasn't available in store and we wouldn't get it until Wednesday - too late for our plumber. Mr Dilemma wasn't at all open to buy a similar, but very much more expensive, tap, so we ended up just getting a bog standard tap rather than the one I wanted. I remain hopeful that we may, eventually, get the tap I want.

Having bought the tap yesterday we don't need to go out today so we have nothing planned. There will be laundry to do, of course, there always is. I may also knit some squares for the patchwork blanket I'm making. I might go up to our tiny guerrilla orchard to see how our apples are doing. Of the 4 little trees we planted last year we have apples on 2. I know other people's trees have ripe apples on them so I am hopeful ours will be getting there too. Of our 2 plum trees, one had a lot of plums but is planted next to the fence which is 'squirrel highway' and they have all been eaten (not by us). The other has absolutely masses of plums but is in the shade of an alder tree and they haven't yet ripened. We get tree surgeons out every 3 years to top the trees surrounding our garden, as otherwise the shade affects our solar panels, and I may see whether they can take that alder down. I have resisted it for the last 13 years, since we moved here, as I really like being surrounded by trees, but the plum has grown to a good height now and the alder really isn't a very attractive tree (in my opinion), so I don't think we will miss it.

Not doing much today. DS was at his first sleepover last night, and when I picked him up we picked currants and berries in their garden for a bit - DS picked a big tub full of blackcurrants so hopefully OH will bake something with them soon. Now he's playing Roblox under OH's supervision, and I'm watching classic Grange Hill.

DD is still asleep. She did wake up briefly to drink some water but then went back to sleep!

Its a bit rubbish weather here today, all grey and threatening rain. Yesterday was so hot and sunny (which was perfect as we went to an outdoor children's heavy metal concert), feel like I could get whiplash from how fast the weather changes right now!

Good morning @lucysmam and Co, it’s a beautiful sunny morning here, I’m sitting in my Shed having had a rearrange of all my art materials and completing a drawing.
We were out with the dogs at 7, it was already warm by the time we got back an hour later.
I’m enjoying a cold drink and watching the long-tailed tits on the bird feeders, there are 9 goldfinches on the Niger seed one.
ZDog2 is asleep in a pool of sunlight by my table, snoring gently, ZDog1 is in the living room, DH has gone to the village for his usual routine of coffee and chatting to anyone who passes the bench in the Market place.
Char Sui pork, spring rolls, pak Choi and egg fried rice for dinner, there will probably be enough for tomorrow as well.
I need to complete an online grocery shop for Tuesday or Wednesday, other than that nothing else planned.

I am just getting up, following a very late night outside with my coven, glorious full moon, shooting stars and the space station.
I am still having a slow motion unpack from last week's witchy gathering. The van was full of stuff and now I've got to remember where it all goes.
It has all been very full on and I am still beyond tired, so I don't plan to do a great deal today. Maybe some mending.
Haven't a clue what dinner will be.

Good morning. A lazy time before noon then a visit to a pop up food place offering South African cuisine from the rotisserie. We’ll enjoy that while the match is on after which I’ll play with and spoil a golden retriever.

Good morning Lucysmam and others. Happy birthday to your dad! yesterday was busy in spurts. I met a pal for second breakfast and very nice it was too. Back home, the family came round so that Dsil could help taking down curtains etc. I'm rather wobbly on steps now. The dust behind my bed was shocking!
Today I've tidied the kitchen and got a washing out. I've now hoovered and washed down the hall. I'm having a cuppa then I'll tackle the living room. I reckon behind the electric fire will be grim but needs must. It's seven years since it was all painted so overdue. (It's seven years since I moved the electric fire too) Later, if I'm still fit, I'll iron and make something with chicken for dinner. Enjoy your day all

school uniform shopping for/with my dd.Hopefully we get everything then back home and I will chuck a roast dinner together but don't know what cos I haven't bought anything yet! I am disliking thinking about back to school it unsettles me thinking that another summer has passed.
