Good Morning Mumsnet! What's everyone up to today?

I'm just drinking my first cuppa, snuggled up with girl cat 😊 a very rare occurrence! Neither of the girls are up yet, I don't think. I haven't heard any movement.

Our only plan for the day is to walk to Lidl & call via the pub for a pint in their yard on the way home. It's my dad's birthday today, so he may call to pick up his present on his way from lunch with a friend.

I'll see if the girls fancy doing anything with the afternoon but they usually say no. Other than that, it'll be crafting for me - I might continue my paint by numbers, or start the last set of peg dolls for my previous class.

We're having roast pork for tea, with roast spuds and veg 😋 followed by fruit & yogurt with chocolate (sort of a diy corner yogurt).

After that it'll be my usual Self-Care-Sunday scrubby everything shower, followed by a couple of hours with my book before bed.

What about all of you? 🙂

Sat in the garden with a coffee and Mumsnet! Me and DH had a nice long walk first thing followed by greek yoghurt and blueberries for breakfast.

I'm going to tackle the ironing pile now whilst DH finishes decorating the spare bedroom which is used by our toddler DGD. Now she seems to be staying over regularly, it'll be nice for her to have her own room to sleep in!

We're having toad in the hole, mash, broccoli and carrots with onion gravy for a late lunch, followed by an ice-cream. May have a nice cold Prosecco too.

Will try to find a Netflix series to watch later. Any recommendations welcome!

Had a lovely 5-hour lunch with 2 old friends yesterday. The pub must have hated us, but to be fair, the inside was close to deserted (although the garden was busy), and they basically left us alone until we showed signs of moving.
Had planned to pop back to Asda for a couple of food shop bits I'd forgotten, but by the time I'd got home at gone 6, re-hydrated and calmed down a bit, I didn't feel like going anywhere.

Went to Asda for pretty much opening time this morning, and remembered why I much prefer to go at 7am on a Saturday. The place was already very busy.

No particular plans for the rest of today. My home insurance is due at the start of September, so I need to get on the case with that.
Will go out shortly and give my 2 cherry tomato plants some feed. The first couple are FINALLY starting to ripen after seemingly ages. There's absolutely loads of them, so I'll be good for tomatoes for a while!

As for tea later... There's some yellow sticker veg in the fridge that I got yesterday, so something from the freezer to go with that I imagine.

Morning all. Having a quiet few days here as the summer holidays are coming to an end and I'm back to work next week. DS is feeling a wee bit under the weather of this morning or so he says - it might just be an excuse to get extra screen time. DH is going to finish shelving out our airing cupboard after he finishes looking at ideas for our Japan trip next year. I think I'm going to do a bit of Japanese study then watch another episode of Unnatural on Netflix. I might walk to the shop to pick up some coffee. Not a particularly thrilling day but it has been quite busy over the holidays so some downtime is needed, especially as our term time is so busy. tonight will either be soup and pudding or feta tacos. Have a lovely Sunday all.

Just about to head out for some lunch, little stroll along the promenade in the sunshine 🌞
DS wants to watch football and DH thinks he might hire a jetski so I may spend the afternoon on the balcony. Had a really.bad nights sleep so need a chilled day.

Good morning @lucysmam and everyone else on this thread.

I'm sitting here with a double chocomocha that DH has just handed me, and taking a break from handsewing some piping around a cushion cover I'm making. Machine sewing would be quicker but I enjoy the slow rhythm of sewing by hand.

DH is making lunch - sausage casserole. Tomorrow I've got a slot booked at the local tip so this afternoon DH and I will have a sort through of what I'm going to take & get rid of.

Good afternoon all, it was Raksha Bandhan yesterday, which celebrates the bond between siblings, so we were busy at temple for a lot of yesterday.

It’s lovely and warm here so we’ve gone to our summer house for a few days before school goes back, so today there has been lots of playing in the lake and nice walks.

Very late to the party today.

Had a lazy morning, pottered about, waited for food shopping to arrive and then we met friends at the local splash park just before midday.

Managed to bag tables in the shade and everyone bought picnic stuff - was a lovely, albeit very hot afternoon. We're just back home now, kids all shattered.

Scrambled eggs / avo on toast for anyone who is still hungry. We've been at the picnic food all afternoon and if course there was ice cream too.

Baths and early nights all round.

Late to the thread but had a lovely day with my 5 year old Grandson. Breakfast out and then the cinema. Just me and him together was perfect and he was very well behaved too. He has been a pleasure today.
