Anyone else watch the news at one?
An absolutely sickening report on people filming kittens being tortured to death and the videos streamed worldwide? Apparently catching on in this country!! I'm not the biggest cat fan but this turned my stomach. Two teenagers are due to be sentenced after pleading guilty to torturing and killing two kittens in London. Absolutely horrific

This has really played on my mind all day. I am an animal lover, a total cat lady, and I have OCD. My intrusive thoughts have been off the scale all day after accidentally reading this on the bbc news app this morning and then it popping up on my Instagram feed without warning. I tried to close the story both times quickly, but it has still absolutely wrecked my head all day.

I feel slightly reassured that some of you here are in the same boat so I don’t feel too crazy❤️

I too have OCD/intrusive thoughts and my little cat is my world and brings me so much comfort. I couldn't even click past the headline on the BBC but have been in tears about this story all day and can't get it off my mind. It's hard to imagine how humans can be capable of such utter evil.

It’s mainly out of China- the problem is there’s no animal cruelty laws there. So they get away with it. It’s disgusting & so upsetting 😢😡😢- there are truly evil human beings in the World.

All deliberate animal cruelty cases are abhorrent.
For me the live streaming one of people paying to see monkeys tortured and killed by various horrific methods which I won't detail here.
That had to be one of the worst things I've read.

Should be longer in my view - the police found graphic material on both of their phones and the teenage boy expressed a wish "to kill a human". Both apparently showed complete lack of remorse or empathy.

In response to a previous poster, yes there are many studies going back decades which show that animal cruelty is a predictor of current and future violence.
