A poster mentioned Sticky Toffee Pudding on another thread which prompted me to reply that I love it, especially with warm caramel sauce. Maybe a bit of good vanilla ice cream with it, too. 😛

Anyone else share this love?

I’m more a savoury than sweet, but make an exception for sticky toffee pudding and banoffee pie!

Until recently I was only a savoury person now I love desserts. So yes op, I would enjoy a sticky toffee pudding with cream, ice cream and hot caramel sauce 😋

I am endlessly disappointment by ‘traditional’ sticky toffee puddings which turn out to be a light cake with no dates. I want dates and stodge and chew thank you get much!

I made the one from the BBC recipe a few years ago and it was perfect. I wonder if you've been getting a version that isn't steam cooked?

It's not my favourite pudding UNLESS it is the Nigella recipe one. That is hands down, one of the best puddings ever. I can't seem to paste the link but it's on the BBC Food website

Ohhhhh yes. I make a gorgeous sticky toffee pudding in the colder months. It's so simple, so incredibly delicious, especially with cold clotted cream or proper vanilla ice cream. It's thick with dates, muscovado sugar and butter. It's not the weather for it now but I could totally demolish a bowl.

My lovely Mum is from a era where she was FORCED to eat dates swimming in semolina at school. She absolutely hates them both .. So for years I wasn't able to make it.

When Wilf was home recently I did an apple sticky toffee pudding which was a mix of two recipes and I used chopped dates... Mum had tinned fruit that night!

Love STP as others have described, thick, chewy and the best I had was with dates.

A good, sticky, toffee pudding is a thing of joy. I also make a ginger version that goes down very well - both come with dates to give that dense pudding texture. I think an STP weekend would be fab.

Haven't made the STP yet, but I did make a cherry, chocolate, pecan loaf and apple cinnamon buns.
