It’s very reminiscent of a dad coming down to tell a teenage child’s friends to leave after they’d being playing records* too late and larking around

*or whatever the modern equivalent is

Except that the "Dad" is actually not the owner of the property and is insulting the people who have paid him for using the room. I hope they get a full refund and get to do their concert again somewhere with more professional management.

The concert didn't start until 8pm. There is no way it was supposed to finish by 9.30pm.

I find some of the people on here mocking an amateur choir singing musical theatre repertoire quite nasty.

But it was supposed to start at 7.30pm.

If the choir wanted somewhere they could book for later they should have found one.

They did. The church was booked until 11pm

My mistake, I thought I saw a flyer saying 8pm start. Must have been another of their (many) concerts)

Even so, half an hour delay is nothing when they had booked the venue until 11pm.

Had they, though?

Comefromaway · 28/07/2025 12:25

According to one of their members, yes they had.

Comefromaway · 28/07/2025 12:26

They have booked and played at that venue a number of times. My son played with them at a different venue, St Giles' I think it was. But the procedure is the same.

TheignT · 28/07/2025 12:45

It would be interesting to know what time the booking ended. I'd definitely read somewhere it was earlier. I suppose there is a time you can perform till and a time you have to be cleared up and out which won't be too he same.

Superhansrantowindsor · 28/07/2025 13:04
  1. what time was the booking due to end? Reports are conflicting.
  2. how close is his residence to the hired out venue?
  3. were there any conditions placed on the booking eg no loud music?
  4. Have any terms of the booking contract been ignored?

What is clear from the video is that it was definitely an acquired taste of performance but if they made the booking until later and no conditions were placed on the booking then he is out of order.
