Pedal pushers and trouser skirts, remember those?!

I bloody loved it back then. Genuinely had the best childhood.

One thing I have noticed is that back then, we PLAYED!! We played for bloody hours and hours and hours and used our imaginations. My kids hardly play… all they ever ask for is my phone/tv (which they don’t get). They just don’t seem interested in playing like I did when I was their age. My brother would spend hours on end at the football pitch down the road, there is one not far from where we live now and I never ever see anyone in there.

Times have changed and I wish my children were growing up in a different time.

@youngestisapsycho we had internet in the 90’! got email in 1992 and rudimentary internet via uk academic network and had full internet at work from 1994, ok wasn’t as sophisticated but it existed. Messages boards were particularly popular

youalright · 25/07/2025 22:47

Sabrina, dream phone, polly pockets, saved by the bell, sister sister.

Jeremy Kyle was 2005 on… I think a lot of this list is 2000s really!

Jerry Springer was 90s - if you knew someone who had Sky

Forever Friends everywhere

Byker Grove and The Broom Cupboard

Having to have the right plastic shopping bag to carry your PE kit to school

Inpulse body spray and Lynx Africa

Looking up to grown up girls who shopped in Etam

MP3 players

youalright · 25/07/2025 22:51

Ring pops

Tothink · 25/07/2025 22:51

@FloraBotticelli probably! I’m mid 90s so my memories are all early 2000s… I loved it and although internet and mobiles existed they hadn’t taken over our lives! It was brilliant.

Yes but people born in the 90s were the ones watching often.

YelramBob · 25/07/2025 22:54

You forgot Britannia record membership 🤣

Oh amazing! The nostalgia, I wish it were as simple now. I’m completely biased obviously but we really did have it good

Pixiedust49 · 25/07/2025 22:56

Had forgotten about Bang on the Door and wasn’t there Purple Ronnie cards everywhere?
