Used to live in a town which had the first Zebra crossing in the world.
It had a famous dump in 1919 (and it's still a dump today 🤣)

Nobody going to have a go?

I'll add that Citroën cars were assembled there between 1926 and 1965.

MadameCholetsDirtySecret · 21/07/2025 11:09

The town I live in is famous for a liquid race meeting.

In my town we call a pie in a barm cake (bap, bread roll or tea cake) a kebab.

We also have a pier but no sea or ocean.

The conductor Malcolm Sargent lived where l live and Daniel Lambert, the fattest man in Britain, died here. It is the most complete Georgian town in the country and has many churches.

Stamford?

A Northumbrian King was defeated in battle and his severed arm was taken by a raven and dropped. A tree grew on the spot and a spring appeared. The town is named after the king and the tree.

Another clue then. The surrounding area is known as something that soldiers go on.

Shitwithsugar · 21/07/2025 11:32

We have a Salt mine.

KimKardashiansLostEarring · 21/07/2025 11:50

Where I grew up is easy - a gorge and cheese.

Where I live - we have a uni and a cathedral but not a city.

Tiny Market Town
Most rural county
Touristy in Summer
Difficult to pronounce
Leader of a famous rock band has a place nearby(think he still does anyway).

Leominster?

We are part of a much larger city but people here like to pretend we’re not really a part of said city.

We have the largest, or one of the largest, urban parks in Europe.

Our MP considers himself above the riffraff (and went to court over some words).

It's got to be Sutton Coldfield

I thought a uni and/or cathedral is what defined a city?

Unless... Cathedral House in Huddersfield..
