Can anyone give me a 'Fuck you, Neil'?

I sent some info out on Monday to some shareholders in my job. I sent an update to the information out today.

A Neil, who I have never had any interaction with, but who is a senior shareholder replied...

Thanks Ramsay, would have been good to know that on Monday and everyone agrees.

He copied in everone. It's more than my job is worth to respond...but a FU would be much appreciated.

And share any work frustrations...I'll be on your side.

Same. Neil's are utter cunts.

What about Smithy?? And Neil The Baby??

RamsaySnowsSausage · 18/07/2025 19:37

I'd be accused of disrespect/ having an attitude etc.

But why isn’t Neil accused of this?!

NaeRolls · 18/07/2025 22:09

Neil is a stupid wanker.

My colleague called me while I was on annual leave about a project I wasn't even involved in, and then last Friday night (9pm-ish) she Whatsapped me an email from a client that was not at all important and could have waited until Monday.

I have now archived her in Whatsapp.

Eddielizzard · 18/07/2025 22:11

He's an arsehole, but he also looks like the arsehole since he's just done a mega-arsehole thing. I think there's no need to reply. I'd just leave that hanging there

Aethelredtheunsteady · 18/07/2025 20:41

For some reason I read Les Grossman as Len Goodman and thought strictly was a bit more hardcore than I’d assumed…

I thought it was about LLoyd Grossman and thought he's got bitter since all the jar sauces and stuff

GreenCandleWax · 18/07/2025 22:12

RamsaySnowsSausage · 18/07/2025 19:34

To clarify...the updated information was not available until today.

Put exactly that, and only that into a reply email. its perfect just as it is.

UnintentionalArcher · 18/07/2025 22:14

@RamsaySnowsSausage Agree with the minimal response suggestions. I like the suggestion above of saying that you’ll pass the feedback on but would be tempted to add something a little more …

’Hi Neil

Thanks for the feedback - I’ve passed it on. If you would like to discuss the information sharing timeline, please get in touch with (email address of person responsible), as I’m sure they would be happy to discuss how your requirements can be best met.

Kind regards
…’

StressedLP1 · 18/07/2025 22:15

Neil,

Im not sure why you’ve got quite so much sand in your arsehole about it, but the information only became available today.

I trust that clarifies things.

Regards,
Ramsay

Oh get in the spirit Kneele, its a Friday night thread about shitty people at work. We all have them.

OP I think no reply is the best reply. Now that I think about it, a reply takes effort, you dont want to expend any on him.

Reallyneedsaholiday · 18/07/2025 22:16

I Can Understand Now That it would have been useful to have this information earlier in the week, and will ensure that your feedback is passed on.

Usernamenope · 18/07/2025 22:17

soupyspoon · 18/07/2025 22:11

I thought it was about LLoyd Grossman and thought he's got bitter since all the jar sauces and stuff

This is why we need the laugh button back 😂

RamsaySnowsSausage · 18/07/2025 19:40

Any kind of defence of yourself is seen as 'not in the spirit'. Apparently it's a no- blame culture 🙄

Unless your name’s Neil…

Theextraordinaryisintheordinary · 18/07/2025 22:20

Hi Neil

When you see “everyone” pls let them know the info wasn’t available on Monday.

HarpieDuJour · 18/07/2025 22:27

Yes Neil, that is unfortunate.
Anyone who knows me understands what I mean when I use the word "unfortunate", but it saves me from being openly rude.

thelakeisle · 18/07/2025 22:28

I could not work in a place where sending a factual response to correct a rude error was considered unacceptable. I'd have to find another job, and yes I already know all the responses to this. But I would still have to find another job.

Pistachiocake · 18/07/2025 22:29

MyNameIsX · 18/07/2025 19:37

Never met a good ‘Neil’ - all been ocean-going a-holes.

Strange-everyone I've met has been nice (except one!) and none were ocean going. That said, I don't know many ocean going people, and I've also worked with some lovely Beccys. Kevins, Charlies and Karens.

Seriously, back to a useful point- I would agree with the others who say a polite response that you only had the info today would be fine, OP.

slowgraffiti · 18/07/2025 22:34

Thanks Neil

Will certainly pass this on.

Apologies, the info was not available earlier

Take care

sometimes only an acrostic email will hit the spot 😉

Mumtofourandnomore · 18/07/2025 22:38

‘Good afternoon Neil, I’m happy to hold back all information rather than send it in tranches if that helps your review scheduling ? I had assumed it was beneficial to receive available documentation earlier where possible’.

nonevernotever · 18/07/2025 22:41

MrsTerryPratchett · 18/07/2025 20:18

And me. That’s scary.

Fuck all the Neils.

I think I must have met all the nice Neils then. I have met, and worked with, several absolutely lovely Neils.

Foreverm0re · 18/07/2025 22:42

What a twat. I’d have to reply, I couldn’t leave it, it would honestly eat away at me. It’s the “everyone agrees” part.

BrucesTooth · 18/07/2025 22:42

"Thanks for the feedback Neil, it's helpful to know that the stakeholder group are all agreed it is better to delay in sharing the information until the final parts are delivered by the reporting leads. In that case I will set a later delivery day for future reports".
Ie can't have your cake and eat it Neil. You can wait till it's stale.

Okiedokie123 · 18/07/2025 22:42

I am fed up of being micro managed. My boss says that they understand how I feel. And then in the very next sentence they demonstrate that they dont. Quit with the daily and weekly planners!!!!
(pronouns deliberately vague, not cos I usually speak of "theys" lol)

Ohnobackagain · 18/07/2025 22:42

“I couldn’t agree more, Neil Neil Orange Peel, but unfortunately it wasn’t available to me” … clears you of taking any rap, plus he might have to ask you and then you are just being helpful @RamsaySnowsSausage

Okiedokie123 · 18/07/2025 22:44

Sorry you have an awful Neil to deal with @RamsaySnowsSausage. Ive known nice Neils and awful Neils - sorry you got a bad one.

Brayndrayn · 18/07/2025 22:45

dapsnotplimsolls · 18/07/2025 21:08
