'Creative juices' is awful.

I don't mind "love" or "duck".

shuggles · 15/07/2025 13:38

@WooleyMunky 'The boys', if you are a male over the age of 25. 'The girls', if you are a female over 25.

This one depends on context though. In sports teams, it would be normal for players to say "the boys played well today" or "the girls played well today."

treesandsun · 15/07/2025 13:39

if you know you know.
use your words
best life
my world
my queen My king

ZoeCM · 15/07/2025 13:39

Get your ducks in a row.

JaneEyre40 · 15/07/2025 13:39

Off the back of that.....just no...

Didshejustsaythatoutloud · 15/07/2025 13:39

Fuckin ducks, the word misogyny and narcissist that mumsnetters love (and frequentlymisuse) grrrrr

You do you
It is what it is

Samiloff · 15/07/2025 13:39

Living my best life

Epli · 15/07/2025 13:39

Pre-loved - it's ok to say second hand

BeardofHagrid · 15/07/2025 13:39

You got this 👍

Epidote · 15/07/2025 13:40

It should/would be fine. The people that say it more frequently has the highest rate failing at the prediction.

My skin get gobsmacked depending on who say it.

LoyalMember · 15/07/2025 13:40

'My Bad'... Just f#ck right off to an American college dorm with that shite, cringey patter.

spoonbillstretford · 15/07/2025 13:41

My boss is 60 and British and uses "Buddy" as if he is in a US sitcom.

JaneEyre40 · 15/07/2025 13:41

Whatareyoutalkingaboutnow · 15/07/2025 11:55

Think that's a bit of a northern one. Lots of turning around and saying.

And Irish

hopelessbusiness · 15/07/2025 13:41

Not a phrase but I cannot bear "you's two" - where did the 's' come from??

DaxieTaxi · 15/07/2025 13:41

I hate 'fangirl'. It gives me this mental image of grown women wearing band t-shirts and hanging around hoping to get a poster signed after a gig.

I also detest the over-use of the words myself, yourself, him/herself, and themselves usually used in emails at work to make the sender sound educated. For instance 'Please find attached an email sent to myself...' Nope, it was sent to me/you/him/her/them.

I also hate 'making memories', 'reaching out' (we're not the Four Tops), and pretty much every phrase PPs have said here.

Thank you OP for giving me (not myself...) the opportunity to vent. I feel much better now.

Blondiney · 15/07/2025 13:41

Not a phrase, an emoji:

💪

GETTINGLIKEMYMOTHER · 15/07/2025 13:42

IndigoBluey · 15/07/2025 11:54

Whet your appetite

What’s wrong with that? Perfectly good old expression. In case you were wondering, ‘whet’ means ‘sharpen’,nothing to do with ‘wet’.

BitSilly · 15/07/2025 13:42

treesandsun · 15/07/2025 13:39

if you know you know.

That's reminded me of

"Kweeeeeeen"

and

"Slay"

FuckoffeeBeforeCoffee · 15/07/2025 12:00

“Love you to the moon and back”

The moon isn’t even that far away!

Adults saying this...internal cringe

ExquisiteSocialSkills · 15/07/2025 13:43

‘Mum’ or ‘Dad’ when the person is not your sibling.

Slightlysimi · 15/07/2025 13:43

In this day and age and Nowadays

I seen them yesterday (seen used VERY commonly in this format where I'm from)

Needs gone

eqpi4t2hbsnktd · 15/07/2025 13:44

Forever... as in "it's our forever house"

HerVagestyTheQueef · 15/07/2025 13:44

"I say it like it is" - I'm a rude twat.

JaneEyre40 · 15/07/2025 13:44

EasternEcho · 15/07/2025 12:04

You got this
Holding space
Your/her/his/its truth
Setting boundaries (over-used)
Narcissist (everyone is if you go by today's usage)
"Honouring" this, that and the other.

Basically any hackneyed overpathologizing everything, instagram therapy-speak phrases floating around today

You've just quoted everything that came from Megan Markle's most recent interview.
