Turkish - bit meat and mezze platter for the family. We're lucky to have a really good place around the corner.

SabreIsMyFave · 20/07/2025 19:35

Chinese takeaway. Last night! (Only have a takeaway about 6-7 times a year, so it's a treat for me and DH.) Smile

FurForksSake · 20/07/2025 19:45

Just had a KFC, zinger tower burger, corn on the cob and a chicken leg.

PinkCandles · 20/07/2025 19:47

Indian. I had veg biryani. Delish

Yorkshiremum80 · 20/07/2025 19:55

Beginning of July we won a huge banquet from our local pizza place. It was amazing 🤤

CosyNavyLeader · 20/07/2025 19:58

Last Sunday.

Indian takeaway for 2 adults 2 kids

Prawn balti
Lamb dhansak
Tandoori chicken main
Mushroom rice
3 keema naan
Onion bahjis
Chips
Few extra mint sauce pots

£67

Too expensive. It was delicious but the cost leaves a sour aftertaste in my mouth if I'm honest.

FranksInvisibleLlama · 20/07/2025 20:04

Domino’s today in the holiday house.
Half cheese and tomato, half pepperoni, and a garlic bread that was less garlicky than the pizza.

FridgeJenga · 20/07/2025 20:05

@CosyNavyLeader it is so expensive these days isn't it.
Here's our order. Just over £50.

Goldenbear · 20/07/2025 20:42

Thai- tonight as DH supposed to cook but ran out of time.

Mademetoxic · 20/07/2025 21:49

The other week. I won't be having one again for a long time. Far too expensive and not worth it.

JudgeBread · 20/07/2025 21:54

Friday. Thai-ish, not super authentic but local and tasty. I had beef and tofu in oyster sauce and husband had pad krapao. It's such a good takeaway, one of those where they cram as much food in the containers as humanly possible and always throw in a few freebies.

It was just a Facebook competition, one of those where you have to share the page and tag someone in. I don't usually enter them but it's a great takeaway and I thought why not. We won 2x huge pizzas, a garlic bread and chips. It was amazing.

GameOfJones · 21/07/2025 07:55

I've just opened my app and it was 3 months ago. We ordered an Indian and it was really nice but the cost is prohibitive.

We are two adults and two primary aged children and got:

Chicken korma
Tarka daal
Pilau rice
Bombay potatoes
Two naans

So basically filling up on carbs in order to keep the cost down but it was still £30 to basically share one main curry and a few sides.

We used to get takeaways more regularly but the cost has increased so much it's not worth it to us anymore. We tend to now keep some pizzas in the freezer and buy the M&S ready meals whenever they're on yellow sticker to freeze so there's always something available if I can't be bothered to cook.

Takeaways now are birthdays or special occasions only if someone fancies one instead of a meal out.

Mikart · 21/07/2025 08:02

Never have one but we do eat out

Comedycook · 21/07/2025 08:03

Fish and chips i think...but it was months ago. Rarely get takeaway...find it a waste of money and I'm dieting

ldgso · 21/07/2025 08:03

Chinese - my partner hates it so I hadn’t had one in a year. His Nan had one for her birthday. Thoroughly enjoyed my crispy shredded chicken, rice and curry sauce.

ViciousCurrentBun · 21/07/2025 08:07

Fish and chips on hols about 2 weeks ago.

I can make authentic Chinese food at home, my Dad owned a restaurant and taught me how to cook. My English Mum and also stepdad taught me English cooking. Then my Indian housemate at University taught me how to make curries.
