I can read the words you've tried to hide. But that's a lovely report!

Bluevelvetsofa · 11/07/2025 17:02

You are entitled to a proud mummy moment and it’s a testament to the school and teacher too, that it’s such an insightful report.

It's a private document between your son, parents and the teachers.

Sharing on the Internet with a barely crossed out name is awful.

Share privately with family and friends.

That's really nice to hear, nothing wrong with being proud! Inspiring to those of us with young kids

Lovely! I got my son’s today but earlier this week we got his SATs results. He had 120 - highest result in his whole school for reading, as well as ‘greater depth’ in the other categories. He was only diagnosed with dyslexia and sensory processing disorder a year ago, and has been having specialist tuition since. I’m blown away by what he’s capable of achieving now that he has the right support.

Enjoy your proud moment!

arcticpandas · 11/07/2025 17:21

This must be private school ? In state primary we compared what had been written. 3 sentences max. One mum who switched to private then got a thesis on how excellent her kid was and all his qualities. Not saying that to put the OP down, just want to reassure all worried parents who wonder if their kids are crap since they don't get more than a couple of lines of praise.

Its not private school. Ds had autism and is working at year 1 level. I think this report has spoken about his strengths in order to build his confidence. The amount of writing is about average for this school. Dont know about others .

That's a lovely report, I love it when people have a justified little boast! Well done! Well done that teacher writing a thoughtful report too.

Our state school writes about the same amount as the OPs so not just private schools.

modgepodge · 11/07/2025 17:32

My daughter goes to state school and her personal comment is a similar length, plus a paragraph on maths and on English.

I worked in private and we had to do a paragraph on each subject, the rest was no more detailed than what’s been posted above. Completely pointless cos who is that interested in how their kid is getting on in RE or geography?!

babasaclover · 11/07/2025 17:38

Max sounds a delight. Reckon kids like this make all the tough work seem worth it for a teacher 😊. Enjoy your proud moment

I’m normal public school and my daughter year 4 got a big section on maths English and science and then just grades in the rest eg working at and very good for effort. And that’s with a job share between 2 teachers which always worried me.

if your school is not doing this I’d be questioning it!!!

SunnieShine · 11/07/2025 17:42

@Dollymix2044 That's lovely, your son sounds like a wonderful boy.

He has the kindest heart ever. He got a badge today and I asked why. He said because when they went to go ape a girl was scared. He said he helped her across and spoke to her to make her feel better 🥰

I’m state/maintained and we write personal reports. It depends entirely on the school.

My DC is at a state primary with a report of a similar length.

Sounds like you’ve raised him very well. He’ll make a great kind and thoughtful husband in the future too. An active member of society 😘

also can I just say so nice to see a happy post for once.
