Took long enough. Dear oh dear.

TheAmusedQuail · 09/07/2025 10:39

I feel for her. She always gets the short straw with men. But I'm sure at this point she'll stand by him. Until he eventually trades her in for a 20 year old.

FatherFrosty · 09/07/2025 10:43

be interesting to see the reason
performance related?
issue with drivers

looks like the inappropriate behaviour was all cool with them

HowManyOtters · 09/07/2025 10:47

Greggggg and Horner in one week. The gods are truly smiling upon us.

TallulahBetty · 09/07/2025 10:50

Oh. Shame.

Bet GH sticks by him.....

Aixellency · 09/07/2025 10:54

There was an interesting article, maybe over the weekend, and ostensibly about Mel B’s weddding, that reflected on the differing financial fortunes of the five women. Victoria and Geri, with their spouses are both worth several hundred million. Whereas the recent bride is struggling on about 4 million.

I don’t think GH will suffer too much over her husband’s job loss.

Gowlett · 09/07/2025 10:58

The papers have something. It will be a sex scandal.
Geri didn’t want a divorce. But she’ll have to cash in.

Aaron95 · 09/07/2025 11:01

We don't know that it is anything to do with inappropriate behaviour. Red Bull have not given a reason.

It may be more to do with Max leaving the team. It's a poorly kept secret that his father has said Max will only stay if Red Bull get rid of Horner. If you had to choose between Max or Christian which would you keep?

SeaBaseAlpha · 09/07/2025 11:03

Not trying to defend him, but there's nothing in that article that says he was sacked for inappropriate behaviour. In fact he was cleared of it previously.

More likely because Max has had a strop.

FatherFrosty · 09/07/2025 11:04

They investigated the inappropriate behaviour and cleared him. So much more likely to be max, sponsor or performance related. Unless anything else came out.

doodleschnoodle · 09/07/2025 11:06

More likely to be the Verstappen factor I think.

CagneyNYPD1 · 09/07/2025 11:07

He’s been sacked because of Red Bull’s team performance in the past 12 months. Nothing to do with the allegations. It’s money. It’s always money.

ruffler45 · 09/07/2025 11:10

Adrian Newey the ace F1 designer left a few months ago, has not helped things.

bbear29 · 09/07/2025 11:12

It doesnt say inappropriate behaviour is the reason and if it was, I doubt Red Bull would put out a statement saying how invaluable he has been to the team.
He had a knees up with Jos Verstappen again recently and Red Bull will do anything to keep their golden boy. They built an entire car around him!

declutteringmymind · 09/07/2025 11:15

It’s interesting, and unexpected. Unless something new has come to light recently re: fingerpenis, then I think it’s performace related. It seems even his immunity to the ruthlessness of red bull has a limit.

the speculation will be rife.

treesandsun · 09/07/2025 11:38

He wasn't sacked for inappropriate behaviour He was cleared of that. He was sacked because of the team's performance They couldn't care less about his behaviour and would have probably been kept on with the warning even if he had been found guilty of inappropriate behaviour. It's all about the success of the team - anything else is way down the list.

harriethoyle · 09/07/2025 11:44

Red Bull have been failing for months. The second driver seat is dead men's shoes and it's difficult to think of a race in which significant points were scored by number 2. When you think of Checo Perez who was regularly top 5 but who Horner sacked last year (at huge expense) and compare that to Liam Lawson and Yuki Tsunoda's performances he has got the strategy totally wrong - and now Max Verstappen isn't winning it's painfully apparent...

It will be interesting to see if this now leads to a statement of loyalty to the team from Max and Jos...!

Pedallleur · 09/07/2025 10:25

been sacked for inappropriate behaviour. Sorry Geri!

Only he hasn't been.

He's been sacked with no reason given (so far).

SaintGermain · 09/07/2025 12:31

No reason has been given and he was previously cleared of any wrong doing.

2107emc · 09/07/2025 14:19

It was an internal investigation so it was controlled by Red Bull. Sure, he was 'cleared' but we all saw the text messages which were totally inappropriate. Max Verstappen has been unhappy with Horner for a while so that mixed with the misconduct last year have led to his sacking.

MandarinsAreNotTheOnlyFruit · 09/07/2025 16:19

I think it is an attempt to keep Max. The papers are reporting that his break clause would come into effect if he was lower than 4th at half way through the season; he is currently 3rd. But the team has lost so many key people at a point where there is a new set of regulations next season, and losing Max would be a disaster. It was well known that Jos said keeping Horner after everything would make the team implode, and it has done that, with the departure of Newey, Wheatley, etc. So getting rid of Horner may be the best option for holding onto their last remaining asset.

AnotherEmily · 09/07/2025 16:24

It is a bit sudden. But I thought it was because Joss Verstappen doesn’t like him and is threatening that Max will go to Mercedes.

HelpMeGetThrough · 09/07/2025 16:24

Pedallleur · 09/07/2025 10:25

been sacked for inappropriate behaviour. Sorry Geri!

It will be put down to team performance.

He won’t give a toss from the money perspective, he was on £12 million a year and they will have paid him off well.

Guarantee he will be back in another team.

LeaAndDer · 09/07/2025 16:25

One commentator stated Horner has ‘some personal problems’.
