Summer thunderstorms

I love a good old thunderstorm in the summer - anyone else?

We were forecast one today but we all pooh poohed it because we have not had one single drop of rain that's been forecast in our region for months.

Anyway, the forecast was actually true for once today and, oh my - the freshness of the air is something else!
Velux and skylights are firmly closed but all other windows are open to get rid of the stuffiness.

Me too - I love them! I love it when the sky goes that fabulous dark blue in the distance but it’s still sunny and gradually gets closer and closer.. Then the first flicker of lightning…

Just been out with the dog, rain is freshening the air nicely, few distant rumbles of thunder and the dark moody sky. ☁️⛈️🐕 south east.

All the N/NW Londoners - I am just a bit further north to you, just nudging into the home counties so fingers crossed you get it!
The sky signal went which is a sure sign it's a good one 😅

Our forecast was for rain today(SW)

We had about 10 minutes of drizzle this morning and now it's blazing hot. I've just watered all the plants, so it's bound to piss down this afternoon!

Just had a massive one (middle earth) and it knocked out our electricity for a bit 🙄

I’m in North Herts and we’ve had a lot of rain this morning and plenty of thunder. Much needed, everything is struggling.

We have had the thunder on & off all morning and are currently experiencing a bit of lightening and (very) heavy rain (although I bet it doesn't last long☹️).
Sitting on the sofa with Ddogs (under a blanket) and the patio doors wide open enjoying the fresh air & breeze.⚡☔

I absolutely love thunderstorms, at any time of the year! We are forecast one today (Kent/outer London border). Can't wait! I love the drama, and the freshness afterwards.

I always feel a bit 'off' just before a storm, and have been feeling a bit rubbish today, so hopefully it's on its way.

I love a thunderstorm too. Sadly where I am in east London there appears to be no sign of one. Gutted to be honest.

Tracking the lightning on this helped DD stop being frightened of it when she was little - she loves a good storm these days!
