Was anyone at Cardiff tonight? Bet it was one hell of a show!

From the videos on YouTube it was a sea of mobile phones over which you could see a massive screen but not so much of the actual band.

DH and I commented that the atmosphere seemed great but that mainly it seemed like a huge singalong with a big screen.

I hope the actual in person experience was better than the recordings! (I’m sure it will have been and we’re just old and grumpy)

It looks ace, we’re going to Wembley at the end of the month!

Icanflyhigh · 04/07/2025 23:01

All I've seen across my newsfeed are folk saying they've watched a live stream and are glad they didn't get tickets.

I'm not a massive fan so it was neither here nor there to me.

We are too. Beyond excited 😁

HouseholdBudget · 04/07/2025 23:03

My son was there.
He won't be home tonight, so guess I will hear tomorrow how it was.

So pleased to have memories of concerts pre mobile phones

Flupflup · 04/07/2025 23:24

SIL going in July he has also played at big festivals so really looking forward to it!

Charlieangle · 04/07/2025 23:35

I can’t wait. Off to Heaton Park next week. So excited. Really trying hard not to watch all the videos being posted.

SwimmingFree · 04/07/2025 23:37

I thought it looked like a brilliant night. I’m going to Edinburgh n2

Shenmen · 04/07/2025 23:40

I wish people would get off their stupid phones and actually enjoy the moment.
I've trained my four kids to take a photo and then put their phones and way and actually watch and absorb the gig. I've seen gigs where people watch the entire thing. Thought
their little screen. It's never as good. Sad arses.

Lena086 · 05/07/2025 07:51

It looked amazing didnt it! I am due to to Wembley gig next month, will be 13 weeks pregnant. I have seated tickets and staying in one of the hotels next to the stadium. Just worried about drunk crowds etc! Does anyone have any similar experience? Thanks x

JANetChick · 05/07/2025 08:07

I was more interested in Blur and Pulp back in the day, although I quite liked Oasis.

My friend (who saw them a few times in the 1990s) went, and said that the gig was incredible, they’ve still “got it” and that the brothers’ reunion seemed authentic.

She also said that Cardiff was great, fabulous atmosphere all afternoon, she said it’s a compact city centre with excellent bars.

Jamesblonde2 · 05/07/2025 11:08

It looked great and not a Pali flag in sight, mint.

haveyouopenedyourbowelstoday · 05/07/2025 11:11

If my facebook feed is anything to go by this morning it was immense.

indoorplantqueen · 05/07/2025 12:34

I’m going at the start of August. Can’t wait. @Jamesblonde2dont worry me and my mates are all bringing our Palestine flags, wouldn’t want to let the side down

IjustbelieveinMe · 05/07/2025 12:37

From the video footage of Richard Ashcroft and Oasis it makes me feel proud to come from the north of England innit.

Treviarpelli · 05/07/2025 12:39

I was there- it was absolutely incredible. From start to end, everyone around us also having the time of their lives. Lots of phones but also everyone just rejoicing in being there. Best gig ever

As a local, I concur. Stadium right in the city centre too, so much easier than Wembley. Such a shame we have rain today. Yesterday’s crowd had a really lovely afternoon, and were sat out in the sun. Today they will all be packed into bars/pubs.

SemperIdem · 05/07/2025 12:46

I was there. It was fantastic.

Bbq1 · 05/07/2025 12:48

Can't stand the wildly overrated Oasis but was very amused by the fans they interviewed on Bbc News, men inb their 40s and 50s clearly still trying to look like Liam Gallagher🤣

Waitingfordoggo · 05/07/2025 12:56

I can’t stand Oasis so it’s of no interest to me but I’d have loved to see Richard Ashcroft!

I’m off to see Pulp next month and can’t wait- 5th time! I will NOT be videoing it all through my phone. For one thing, it’s much better to see it with your actual eyes, and for another thing: does anyone ever actually watch these hours of video they’ve taken at a gig? Or worse- make other people sit through it?

"Oasis setlist: all the songs played at Cardiff’s Principality Stadium | Oasis | The Guardian" https://www.theguardian.com/music/2025/jul/04/oasis-setlist-all-the-songs-played-at-cardiffs-principality-stadium

Looking at the set lists I could have gone home after song 3. My two favourite songs were played after Hello.

Richard Ashcroft's set looks good but short.

I don't mind a singalong tbf. The best ones feel like church.

Oasis setlist: all the songs played at Cardiff’s Principality Stadium

With a heavy emphasis on their 1990s heyday, here is every song that Oasis and their support acts played on the first night of their tour

And showers of wee 🤢

I was there! It was (IMO) AMAZING, the atmosphere was unreal!
The build up and everyone out drinking in the sun was lush, it was buzzing, perfect afternoon / evening out for me 🙂

Why? Genuine question.

Whats an oasis concert got to do with Palestine?
