Think everyone has forgotten it's my birthday soon. Also everyone is kind of skint. So fuck it i will treat myself 🤣 so what can I buy myself.

I will say no to:
Hair dressers, spa, alcohol. A night out. No make up type things

I bought myself a lovely dress for my holiday and an online portrait oil painting course plus supplies for my birthday this year.

use this phrase to help you think of ideas… “Something you want, something you need, something to wear or something to read…”

happy birthday!

I want a Dock and Bay towel and matching tote bag for my holiday!

Ophy83 · 26/06/2025 22:57

Do you like reading? If so you could get a book club subscription where they send you a book every month.. my mum got me this one once: https://rarebirdsbooks.com/
It was pretty good, you got sent a synopsis of 2 books each month and selected the one that appealed to you most. I had some really interesting reads that I wouldn't necessarily otherwise have heard of.

Other ideas: lovely shoes/trainers/boots, whatever suits your preference; cinema membership; tickets to a gig/sporting event; book an escape room to do with friends or family; spotify or audible subscription.

Edited to remove coffee machine/theatre tickets as just saw you don't like them

Just get yourself something you will enjoy. Doesn't even have to cost anything, could be a relaxing wander around a local woods with a picnic for one.
Failing that a tattoo or a new vibrator 🤣

Silsatrip · 26/06/2025 23:18

Funky bullet travel mug
Supersoft bath towel with a great pattern
Fitbit
Extra deluxe coffee
Jewellery

Literally whatever makes you smile

NettlesAreStingyBuggers · 26/06/2025 23:20

I would go for a day trip away. Somewhere i could explore and have a tasty lunch

AngryBookworm · 26/06/2025 23:25

Think of the thing you use most every day and get yourself a really nice version of that. Or a pair of them, like two nice bowls or plates. Really nice socks? Big box of posh meat from somewhere like Pipers Farm? Lots of ingredients from Sous Chef? Or, just put whatever money away but earmark it for when you see something you like, eg in a shop.

Or if you don't want anything, make a generous donation to a charity that means a lot to you. You'll feel good and do good.

Moneymaybe · 26/06/2025 23:28

If you need new trainers, why not go a bit more specialised and get gait analysis and the resulting recommended trainers at a specialist shop?

TheLostStargazer · 26/06/2025 23:54

Go out somewhere interesting. A day trip, a gallery, any place interesting. Buy yourself brunch.
buy yourself those trainers.
Remind everyone it’s your birthday.

IndigoBluey · 27/06/2025 01:38

@Imagoodperson999yeah, it does seem like you don’t want to celebrate or buy yourself anything. Some good responses here but you seem rather negative if you don’t want to buy yourself anything, then when start a thread asking what you should buy yourself?

yada yada, woe is me “Don't go to the gym. Don't drink hot drinks . I have air fryer and multi cooker theatre tickets no.
You know I dont think I actually want anything. I mean I wanted to treat myself but there's nothing I want do ita kibd of pointless”

so don’t start a thread asking for ideas 🤣

ZiggyPlaysGuitarrr · 27/06/2025 01:57

No one who'll buy you anything. No hobbies. No interest in pretty much everything suggested. Kindly, your life sounds pretty empty. I would give yourself the gift of a hobby, which should hopefully lead to more interest into things and may lead to new things too.

PermanentTemporary · 27/06/2025 02:51

I’m going to grow a lemon tree in a pot as I have a little sun trap area. Something like that?

fatgirlswims · 27/06/2025 03:27

What’s the budget?
I got a new iPhone for myself
new bag
new shoes
new coat
Ice cube machine
ninja slushi
coffee machine
Monica vinidar earrings
bracelet
Shark Flex
New art work
Apple Watch

MulberryPeony · 27/06/2025 04:06

A piercing
New jeans
Posh bubble bath or shower gel
Day trip

Love the lemon tree idea!

Rainbowqueeen · 27/06/2025 05:16

A whole new outfit including shoes and underwear.

caringcarer · 27/06/2025 05:23

If you said you need new trainers go shopping, have lunch out and buy new trainers and a birthday cake too.

Thistooshallpass. · 27/06/2025 05:27

Book , chocolate, new mug and nice teabags …. And a piece of jewellery!

EagleOnTheWall · 27/06/2025 05:53

I've just started a new job and noticed everyone is wearing bracelets. I don't have any so I just bought a couple as my gift for myself 😀Maybe it's a strange concept but after years of not buying anything not 100%necessary for myself, because it was more important to buy things for the DC and I wasn't earning, I've decided to allow myself some nice frivolous things every now and again.

DH bought me a pen (for my new job!) and forgot to remind the DC so I got nothing from DC1 beyond a grunted "Happy birthday" and a thump on the shoulder before he left for school and a panicked call from DC2 at school when she remembered and an old craft project from primary school when she got home!

Francestein · 27/06/2025 05:56

Books, albums, dog or cat, fancy chocks or booze, plants, new boots?

I did want buy myself something for my birthday. I think it was the fact it's my birthday and I wont get anything from anyone. So I wanted to buy myself something. Then ( after) I made the thread and read a few replies I realised there's nothing I actually want.

To be fair though someone mentioned trainers I said I do need some so maybe. Someone else said about a tattoo.
