Think everyone has forgotten it's my birthday soon. Also everyone is kind of skint. So fuck it i will treat myself 🤣 so what can I buy myself.

I will say no to:
Hair dressers, spa, alcohol. A night out. No make up type things

AdaColeman · 26/06/2025 18:40

Get a fancy cake and some flowers for a start.

yeshimabet · 26/06/2025 18:40

I don't like flowers as gifts. I don't even own a vase . I could definitely eat loads of cake though 😋

I bought myself a Le creuset Dutch oven. Oh and a mug.
They were for Christmas actually, but still a gift to me.

I love them both!

Magazine subscription? Like a treat every month.
Plants and a pot to put them in by your front door? Pick perennials which will come every year from the clearance section.
New nail polish emery board and hand cream? Not pampering but maintenance.
Gift yourself set amount of cash to spend on books, a new scarf whatever from your favourite charity’s shop or website. Happy birthday!

I don't see the point in buying yourself a birthday present tbh. It won't mean anything.

It my birthday next week. I’ve got the week off and I’m having a massage, a facial and getting my hair done. I have asked for my favourite perfume. I get asked what I want but I just don’t know, so this thread might inspire me!

I bought myself some hardback books, instead of waiting until they come out in paperback.
Feels so wrong, but also a massive treat to me.

watchuswreckthemic · 26/06/2025 18:55

I bought myself some new to me trainers from Vinted- do you like clothes etc?

SunDash · 26/06/2025 18:56

A weekend in Riga?

Mathsbabe · 26/06/2025 18:56

What would you like to know more about? Book some lessons or an experience

Velvetiser (honestly couldn’t live without mine now and it still feels like such a treat)

qwerty36 · 26/06/2025 19:26

Nice gym clothes? Fancy coffee maker? Or other kitchen appliance. Birthday gemstone jewellery? Theatre tickets ?

SparklingMetre · 26/06/2025 19:28

Smart watch (if you don’t already have one), silk pillowcase/eye mask/pillow spray, monthly flower subscription, afternoon tea somewhere nice, new face creams,

I disagree. Why not treat yourself? Of course you can do that any day, but a birthday is as good a day as any other.

For my recent big birthday I bought myself a LV handbag - not for everyone, but I wanted it and bought it for myself. Used big birthday as an excuse.
What do you want but would never spend money on?

Imbluedalale · 26/06/2025 19:29

If I was to get myself a treat I’d consider the following :
Nice comfy posh pjs
luxury box of chocolate
An M&S food shop of treats (cake /biscuits etc)
flowers

notacooldad · 26/06/2025 19:32

I bought myself a double 'egg' style swing chair for my birthday. I know none else is interested in it so I can stretch out on it
