I'm looking for new hobbies.

What do you like to do? Whether it's crochet or going out on this piss, I want to hear about it :)

I sing sean nós (traditional Irish acapella singing), do drystone walling, and am about to start a print-making course to learn to make lino cuts. I go to the opera and art museums. Hill-walking. Sea-swimming for part of the year. Obsessive reader. Arthouse filmgoing.

I like baking, reading (when I get 5), running and strength work, museums, theatre, volunteering (currently PTA and Scouting). I am thinking of having a go and making things with resin at some point.

I'm old beyond my years at 37 😂

Diamond painting, so relaxing, but the paintings I buy are huge, so when finished I roll them up and put them back in the box.

Each one can take me 3/4 months to do.

AudiobookListener · 26/06/2025 18:07

Learning stuff: a language, a musical instrument, doing a history of music course.

Keeping a sketchbook/nature journal. I can't draw and don't know much about nature so that's really "learning stuff" too.

Board games and puzzles.

Anything crafty. Knitting, crochet and embroidery are the big ones but I fancy trying my hand at jewellery making and collage too. (And, has someone has already alluded to, buying crafting supplies. Equally addictive Grin.)

Volunteering, through a family member who does it (not in the UK), but there are lots of courses/training weekends.

My dc are old enough now to entertain themselves most of the time. So once I've done with work and housework, I spend time with my ferrets and read with a cat on my knee!

I recently earned myself a PPL (Private Pilots Licence) so I hire a plane and go flying once a fortnight or so. Great fun seeing places from the air. Am thinking about turning it into a career I love it that much.
