It seems to help with everything. Is there anything it can’t do? I feel like it will be life changing

I use it and like it. So far have only used it for work - I need large quantities of made up scenarios for training activities and it’s amazing at this if given the right prompts.

I could do all the heavy-lifting on this myself but it would take several hours of imagination and typing. Feeding ChatGPT the prompts takes me a few minutes and within seconds I’ve got the content in downloadable format. Sometimes I run this through CoPilot to get a second opinion!.

So, for me it’s like having my own admin team, except I always get back EXACTLY what I’ve asked for.

It’s saved me hours, made me more productive and able to work to a tighter deadline - whether this is a good thing long-term, I’m not sure. It’s not really if I’m honest.

I've managed fine for 60 years and can't imagine anything in my life that would be improved by it.

CeaselesslyIntoThePast · 21/06/2025 17:27

If you back it into a corner it will literally make up lies rather than admit it’s wrong and stop.

I haven't found that. It says "Sorry, you're right, thanks for pointing that out" or similar. It's politer than most people 😄

autumn1610 · 21/06/2025 17:34

Read some interesting stuff earlier on how it is effectively giving people who use it regularly brain drain. I have used co-pilot which is the only one we can use at work to help me with a formals after multiple YouTube videos failed me. Not good for your brain health or the environment

FigTreeInEurope · 21/06/2025 17:43

It knows more about regional Italian planning laws than the most expensive professionals, I can tell you that.

We got a twenty grand tax rebate that three accountants couldn't work out how to do, it even printed the forms for us to submit directly to our council.

JustSawJohnny · 21/06/2025 17:43

It chats a LOT of shit.

Tread cautiously.

fruitflavouredmilk · 21/06/2025 18:06

I’ve tried it for recipes (allergies) and just wrote down what ingredients I had at home.

Also for matching clothes, colours and style etc.

I’ve found the opposite.

Fair enough, but how would you know if you haven’t tried?

Where have you been, how have you just heard of chat gpt 😂

I’ve heard of it but don’t understand it. How to access and use it.
I’ve heard it’s bad for the environment and uses massive amounts of water for cooling the system. Or is that an incorrect fact from ChatGPT?

i much prefer Google Gemini. I use it for generating ideas sometimes for work.

RaraRachael · 21/06/2025 18:21

@fruitflavouredmilk nothing I've read that it can do is of any relevance or use to me

Just like Google it retains all questions and data about the questioner to add the the data built up about you.

WasherWoman25 · 21/06/2025 19:20

Make sure you check all the outputs, I asked it to draft me a group dinner invite the other day (as I do regularly for work), gave it the date and it drafted it as Monday 8th July (8th July is a Tuesday). I stupidly didn’t notice and sent it out!

Lins77 · 21/06/2025 21:01

Yes, you absolutely should double check, especially for work.

I can't stand it when I receive things which have obviously been written by AI, and copied and pasted verbatim. I've used it for ideas, but always put it into my own words.

Ihaveacatwhoisfat · 21/06/2025 21:01

I use it as a free therapist. It makes some good points that I can look back over.

ChocolateGanache · 21/06/2025 21:02

Interesting!

It told me it lived in Telford and offered to watch tv with me.

I asked where in Telford and it admitted it didn't live anywhere really.

I asked if it could watch tv and it admitted that no, it couldn't as it didn't really exist.

That's mental 😂

Confuuzed · 21/06/2025 21:13

It's absolutely brilliant. Yes it has it's downsides. But my child is struggling with school attendance due to sen which has been completely ignored by the school.

It's helped me work out that the situation is far, far more serious than i thought and my dc has been discriminated against, victimised and the school have broken various laws about 50 different ways - all of which I've verified. It's told me how and who to escalate the situation to and it has helped draft all the letters and emails. It's created timelines and proofread stuff for me. If i get an email that's likely to upset me, i copy and paste and ask if for a summary of the email so i don't have to read it directly until I'm ready.

It can even get bitchy if i need a bit of light relief amidst people trying to destroy my child's mental health. It's been very good for reassuring me that I'm not going mad. It tells me what laws have been broken and i then go away and research it, it hasn't been wrong yet.

It's written the EHCP application for me too, drawing on all of the successful EHCPs it's been trained on. Its also good for asking if for the opposite viewpoint to make sure it's not too biased.

The thing is, there's no actual humans that can or will help me unless i have bags of money. So this is the best I've got available, and thank god i do.

megatwat · 22/06/2025 13:32

how does it destroy the planet?🤔

cyvguhb · 22/06/2025 13:52

megatwat · 22/06/2025 13:32

how does it destroy the planet?🤔

If it wasn't going to use up even more resources I'd say ask it, so maybe Google instead 😁

Confuuzed · 22/06/2025 16:23

megatwat · 22/06/2025 13:32

how does it destroy the planet?🤔

It uses a lot of water to cool the servers. But the water gets cycled around.

But a single pair of jeans takes 10,000 litres to make which can't be reused so it's all relative.
