I remember an old thread where a group of friends basically denied themselves treats on holidays and days out for years because one couple in the group were supposedly hard up and they didn’t want the other couple to struggle. It turned out that they actually had saved a substantial amount to put their son through Uni . I wonder what happened next as the OP and friends were absolutely outraged and were going to confront hard up couple, but the thread had reached maximum posts so never knew what happened next . What is the thread that you remember and would love an update on ?

The woman who's husband she suspected of spying on her in their home/secret cameras etc, always quizzing her about specific things she'd done or eaten, following her, standing outside the bathroom door whilst she showered, going through bins to find her receipts and takeaways, sniffing things in her wardrobe and then asking her about them......

No they hadn’t returned when she last posted on a related thread recently.

There was a thread called something like “Situation With My Colleague” where she fancied him and didn’t know if he reciprocated and it turned out he did.

A couple of stepmum threads have stayed with me because I’ve felt for the kids and wondered how they are getting on. One where she wanted them to sleep on a landing and wouldn’t give them a room and another where the stepmum was pregnant and wanted the existing DC relegated in visits to July and August only. That thread got deleted because she got outed.

There was one lovely young lady who worked in a department store I think it was. She used to see a young man in there regularly and they had caught each others eye. She was really keen for him to ask her in a date and he did in the end.. I think with a lovely bunch of flowers.. the date went well and I think they had a few more and it was all lovely s Asif exciting.. this must be about ohh 5/6 years ago… I’d love to know if things worked out and what stage if their relationship they were in now..

If I recall correctly it was returned good as new when she told the pal she would need to involve the police as the pal had said it had been stolen at the hotel

I've read up to the end of page 2 so apologies if this has already been said, but I frequently think about one from the last year or so. It was written by the sister of a woman whose husband had gone to a Scandinavian country for work. Then just ghosted her. That would be his wife and FOUR kids. Just decided he didn't want to contact them any more.

The OP was very worried about her sister (who sounded as though she was having a complete nervous breakdown) and her nieces and nephews. He stopped sending money, the children's school fees hadn't been paid, and he couldn't be bothered to talk to or message his wife. It was so awful.

I hope there is some sort of karma for him. I hope the mother is pulling through and that her own siblings (OP included) managed to fit helping her into their schedule. But I'd love to know how she is doing. And her children.

Not sure what happened after that.

OP was pregnant. Had no family support. Had a challenging upbringing. DH had been in an accident and while he was unconscious she used his thumbprint to unlock his phone so she could contact his work. Turns out he was a lying cheating scum bag.

Her user name at the time was something like treestreestrees.

I hope she made it out. She deserved better.

A previous poster mentioned Balonz. It suddenly struck me that "Balonz" or whatever he ended up being called would be grown up now. I feel old.

The CF returned it once she received a Letter Before Action.

The one a few months ago by the woman about to give birth (DC2) and got a text from someone claiming to be her DH's OW. The OP was sure it wasn’t true so demanded proof and was sent it. She sent it to her DH as he arrived home from a business trip and got her brother to hand him a packed bag and tell him to leave. He kept begging to be allowed back, to talk.

I think the thread continued until she gave birth a few days later but I’d love to know if she decided in the end to forgive him and take him back, or not, and how she is.

One of the first threads I remember reading was someone posting about their DHs mates girlfriend, who sounded like a psychotic nightmare. He'd finally broken up with her but her parents were begging him to get back together and I think even offered some sort of bribe. Don't think the OP ever updated so will never know what happened next.

Also, BCF (big choc friendly) - the woman, the myth, the legend - is always missed.

Wherever she is (somewhere in Germany I presume) I hope she is well!

I'm pretty sure he proposed and she posted a picture of them in the pool.

This one always stuck with me - she seemed such a lovely woman and had tried so hard to hold things together in difficult times.

Her final posts were that she’d started a relationship with one of her ex’s friends and her former MIL had taken it really badly and was disowning her.

I posted on a similar thread similar to this a couple of years ago that I thought of her often and someone posted on the thread that things had been difficult but she was doing well l. I hope she’s continuing to do well

There was a poster who had been involved in a serious accident abroad with her husband and some friends. Her husband was pretending that he had been some kind of hero, rescuing people and saving people, and had had a lucky escape himself. It was completely untrue, and he had actually run away and watched while the others struggled. But everyone believed him, and was praising him and being sympathetic. She didn't know quite what to do, she obviously didn't want him to carry on deceiving people. I don't think she came back to say what happened, and I always wondered whether she did confront him and what he said.

This is the one that stays in my mind. She was so utterly heartbroken and lost whilst her husband was so cold and contemptuous towards her. I hope she was able to step back from her grief and realise that her husband was a deeply unpleasant man.
My heart ached for her.

I remember this one. I was so moved by the bravery and dignity of that thread. I hope she and her children are doing well.
