I remember an old thread where a group of friends basically denied themselves treats on holidays and days out for years because one couple in the group were supposedly hard up and they didn’t want the other couple to struggle. It turned out that they actually had saved a substantial amount to put their son through Uni . I wonder what happened next as the OP and friends were absolutely outraged and were going to confront hard up couple, but the thread had reached maximum posts so never knew what happened next . What is the thread that you remember and would love an update on ?

The relationship ended and he was back home. I think it sounded like it was going to take time to unravel (the gf's family were bonkers) and sort out.

I hope he is living a happy life.

I also seem to remember the ironing board being on top of a wardrobe. In the spare room, if I remember rightly. Although that might have been a baking tray now I think about it.

This is the one that I was invested in, it was at Christmas time.

PP seemed to pluck up courage and plans to leave, but always backed down.

It felt quite helpless as a PP, trying to help her as she was so conditioned to being there.

I often wonder about @trickytreelou too - she stayed around in a few short 30 day threads for a few years, until Adam was just about to start school I think? then one day I couldn't find the thread and assumed she had name changed.

Would love to know how "our Adam" is, and the cats....

The one I’ve always remembered and wanted to know how it worked out was posted by TheLastOfTheNappies and the thread title was something like ‘help me have a good relationship with MIL or DH and I will split’ and it turned out MIL was basically evil and DH was failing at calling her out on it. OP has changed her child’s name quite late and MIL wouldn’t have it and threw a birthday party for the child under the original name, invited the DH but they were both hiding it from the OP. Would love to know if she kicked them both into touch or if things worked out differently! The child would probably be 16ish now so a very long time ago!

I remember Kateandthegirls and would love to know this too. I think of them every anniversary. I suspect there’s a lot of us old timers here for whom the human/personal aspect of 9/11 was brought home specifically because of their family.

Back when I first joined there was a poster callled something like downthehillandaroundthebend who was gearing up to leave her DH. I wonder how she is - think all her posts got deleted.

Also a longtime (but I was new!) poster whose husband had a serious car accident and she found out he'd been having an affair. Writing this now it sounds like the plot of a film. I feel like she name-changed on her posts. Again, I wonder how she is. Her posts felt so raw.
