Passport Renewal Photo - oh my god I am SO ugly!!!!

Just done my renewal online and DH has taken my photo for the renewal. Bloody hell I didn't realise how ugly I am. It was honestly a massive shock. One side of my face looks so different to the other, one eye is slightly wider, one nostril is more open than the other and I look hideous.

It has honestly knocked me for six. I don't know whether to laugh or cry.

You can touch up your appearance on zoom in the settings (can also add a moustache or eyebrows etc if you wanted a laugh)

There was a travel book titled “When You Look Like Your Passport Photo It Is Time to Go Home”.

I was so embarrassed by my passport photo that I got a bus pass to use for ID. For that photo, I did my hair, wore a face full of makeup and adjusted the lighting. My passport photo was taken in
WH Smith and I looked like I had recently been dug up after being embalmed. It didn’t help that I had to take my glasses off and that made me squint like Mrs Piggy McPiggyface. The shame 😳

Oh my god I had the same reaction to mine.
I dont have anything particularly reassuring to say as it triggered me to lose 2 stone and start wearing fake tan and I do look better in photos. Can't fix the fact that one side of my face is lopsided and getting worse as I get older though!

I face tuned my passport photo 😂 Thankfully, they didn’t notice.

This is the only solution then.

@somuchrubbish Ahh the passport photos, I started a recent thread about this and was happy to read I am not the only one who looks absolutely awful…not sure how to link threads, but it definitely made me feel better 😂
I did receive my passport not long ago, and safe to say it looks terrible…just 10 more years of that one and then I’ll be able to try all over again 🤣

Honestly it was so hideous I just couldn't bring myself to use it. Thankfully I am not desperate for the passport as I don't need it for any reason. So I am waiting for my DD to be able to take it on the weekend. I think she may have a better chance of making me look more like Princess Fiona and less like Shrek! 🙃

A friend of mine used to work in a shop that did passport photos she said the majority of photos she took looked like they were mug shots of mass murders. She used to feel guilty actually handing them over.

Feel your pain. Our family look like a team of axe-murderers and I am constantly surprised that we are let in to any country at all (mind you, they do stare back and forth from photo to face quite a lot!)

Same. I look ugly in all photos...I never ever do selfies.

It was a running joke for years with my other half and kids that I looked exactly like Kathy Bates in Misery on my passport photo. Frightening

If I have to take a photo I do my absolute upmost to never look at it again!

I have one droopy eyelid (worse when Im tired) and one side of my mouth droops down also. Its not so noticeable in real life but in photos I look like Ive had a stroke!

Well, I felt great going to take my passport picture with a full face of make up and curly hair like Julia Roberts in Pretty Woman, only for worzel gummidge to appear in my passport. Only 8 more years until I get another attempt, by which point my mirror might agree it's more worzel gummidge to begin with... I dread to think what the passport picture will look like then... Who knows. Maybe it's Julia Roberts then... I'm hoping that's how passport pictures work. Fingers crossed.

Me and my DP had to take photos for our railcard. We left it to the very last minute, so the photos we had taken had to do. I was having a rosacea flare, so I was bright red. A couple of nights before, he had fallen flat on his face. Busted lip, bruised nose and a few cuts.
I imagine the staff dealing with our photos and card had a right laugh. We are stuck with them for a year now.
They honestly look like the mugshots the police post on social media when they are after someone.

In my very first passport at 18 I had a perm and.look like Colonel Gaddafi, in my latest one I look like I have died and they.duh me up to take the photo. None of the ones between have been any better

I had to send photos of a groups of girlfriends passports to an Airbnb last year and the 5 of us together just looked like Real Housewives of Prisoner Cell Block H! And we are all lovely looking in real life! I have also had the border official look at my photo then up at me and say well you’ve had a glow up from this photo! I think some us just take terrible photos. I’m pretty nice looking in real life, and a guaranteed total goblin in a photo. I actually saw a comment on here the other day which I really liked. Something like even if the photo of me looks terrible I remember what a great time I had that day or the people I loved who were there.

I take dreadful photos and my passport and driving licence are the same photo and it is just horrible, I really didn't think I looked that bad! 😱

Might be one of the reasons I haven't been abroad since I renewed it so no one has to look at it.

I do have a photo on an old security pass taken many years ago, I wish I'd been able to use that photo for both passport and driving licence as I like it and I really don't look that much different. Oh well ...

I had this. Made him do about 30 retakes before I realise that I actually do just look like that now.

When I showed husband mine from the machine he burst out laughing before he caught himself. Apparently I look like a serial killer.

I don't think our resting faces look good in photos.

Can we say the camera does lie then?
