Do you know where your passport is right now

Even if you do go and check. Kids break up soon and you don’t want a last minute panic.

I had a middle of the night panic about the dates on my ds passport and feel better for checking

Yes, in my bag because I’m flying to Spain tonight. Otherwise, it lives in my desk drawer with the massive stack of family passports.

You need an ETA to fly to the UK on an EU passport.

You can get back in with evidence that you are a UK citizen I presume. I guess I’ll find out next week!

U53rn8m3ch8ng3 · 21/06/2025 14:17

Yes I know where all of them are for the family. But then that's just the kind of person I am. I could tell you where every single thing I own is, even down to items in the shed.

Natsku · 21/06/2025 14:27

Yes.
I also know it's very expired, as are the children's passports. Waiting for our appointment at the police station to renew.

Let us know how that goes. My uk passport expired years ago and I've only used my Finnish one since then but now this eta thing is messing that up.

FancyBiscuitsLevel · 21/06/2025 14:49

I know where it should be. I haven’t actually gone looking for it since our February trip, I’ve rather presumed it’s still where it should be. (You are making me nervous right now and making me want to check, however where it “should be” is in our home office drawer, but dh is currently finishing off a work thing and possibly wouldn’t appreciate me interrupting him to go look for it just because someone on MN told me to.)

CatloverNY · 21/06/2025 15:02

Yes always keep it in a safe place put back straight after holiday and know its expiry date by heart ! We do travel a lot though so we’re pretty organised with things like this.

BellissimoGecko · 21/06/2025 15:07

Yes, in the passport drawer. A place for everything, and everything in its place…

LlynTegid · 21/06/2025 15:08

Yes I do.

Worth checking if you have to provide advance passenger information and any visa requirements.

mondaytosunday · 21/06/2025 15:24

Yes but my DDs is not where she thought it was. I’m sure she’s used it for some ID thing (she went to uni this year and had to open bank accounts etc) and not returned it. But of course I’m her mother so it’s my fault!

GretaGreen · 21/06/2025 15:25

I do but only because I saw it shoved in a drawer earlier when I was looking for an appointment letter that was also shoved in the drawer.

Goes without saying it’s your fault. Does she need it for travelling this summer

Ours are where they live. Expiry dates and 9 month warning alert on the family calendar.

Thanks though mama.

ErrolTheDragon · 21/06/2025 15:42

Yes, ours are in a specific place together with things like GHIC cards, and Oyster cards for if we go to London.

I did once lose mine for a time years ago, I’d changed handbags shortly after a trip.

TroysMammy · 21/06/2025 16:01

Yes in a lockable, fireproof box in a wardrobe. Pity it expired in 2016 though.

FrangipaniBlue · 21/06/2025 22:26

DH and DSs are in our safe where all important documents are kept. Mine is currently with the passport office - waiting for my new one to be issued!

DinoLil · 21/06/2025 22:35

Yep. I'm very anal (ADHD) and have a filing cabinet in the kitchen with hanging files all in alphabetical order including my death book and will!

Police station?

Passport right next to me. I'll have to double check that you've made me nervous @legyeleven 🤣

aniloD · 21/06/2025 23:16

Secure pocket in my carry-on bag and it expires on 2031.

AnonMJ · 21/06/2025 23:29

On my desk…..

That's a decent sized assumption that everyone can afford a holiday (abroad or not)

That's what I was thinking.

To answer the title question - yes, I do.
However, not everyone is going abroad in the Summer Holidays.

MiddleAgedDread · 21/06/2025 23:42

Yes thanks, used it twice recently and put it back where it lives ready for the next trip. Doesn’t expire for a while yet.

DiscoBeat · 22/06/2025 00:14

Always in the same drawer in the office, with the rest of the family's.

again quite clearly said if you are going abroad this summer then check. If you are staying in the U.K. then great don’t check your passport
if you just want to be offended then be offended
