We’re lucky enough to be enjoying a lovely sunny Saturday, so will be having home-made burgers with all the trimmings and a few ice cold beers.

What’s everyone else going to be enjoying this evening?

Pimms & nibbles, then hot smoked salmon salad with beetroot and carrot in a honey and mustard dressing, with strawberries and clotted cream for pudding. 🍓 🍓 🍓

AndOnThatTree · 14/06/2025 18:34

Spinach and cheese gnocchi with chicken, garlic bread and cheese sauce.

Amuse-Bouche:
Compressed watermelon with whipped feta, micro basil, and a balsamic reduction pearls.

Starter:
Foraged wild garlic velouté with a quail egg and truffle foam.
(The garlic was picked locally on a morning walk with my forager friend from Pilates.)

Main:
Sous-vide venison loin with a celeriac purée, port reduction, and a shard of burnt hay-infused tuile.
(Serve with heritage carrots in three textures.)

Palette Cleanser:
Champagne granita with elderflower mist.
(Mist table-side from an atomiser I bought at an artisanal perfumery in Copenhagen.)

Pudding:
Deconstructed Black Forest gateau with cherry gel, chocolate soil, and kirsch espuma.
(Each element plated exactly 1.5 inches apart.)

Petit Fours & Coffee:
Handmade matcha truffles and single-origin espresso in mismatched vintage demitasse cups.
(I just think it’s more charming when it’s not too perfect, don’t you?)

Pork chops, veg and apple sauce.

onwardandupwards · 14/06/2025 18:42

Fried egg and hash brown sandwich with a bowl of angel delight for after

Flozle · 14/06/2025 19:30

Husband came home with a duck, so that’s what we’re having. With cherry sauce and roast potatoes, apparently.

It has been absolutely pouring rain all day here! Currently snuggled up on the sofa with a blanket, watching the new series of Clarkson’s Farm and waiting on DD bringing some fish & chips home

Feels like winter 🙈

Where are you in the country (rough location)? I'm just outside NE London and it's been a lovely sunny but breezy 25⁰ !

smallstitch · 14/06/2025 19:34

I had a lovely roast veg lasagne that I made using various stuff I had in the fridge. Roasted some peppers/red onion/courgette and mushrooms in the air fryer and added some Arabiatta sauce I’d got in the freezer. Layered it up and topped with some cottage cheese topped with cheddar as cba to make cheese sauce, it was delish with salad.

Leftover Ethiopian takeaway!

Hope it’s Awaze Tibs! Stunning 🤤

WickWood · 14/06/2025 20:35

Yum, I am very jealous of some of these!

We're having pasta bake with veg and garlic ciabatta, when the baby eventually goes to sleep!

whatwasthatnoise · 14/06/2025 20:49

@ninjahamster hope you're ok.

We had a pub lunch. And I had a pint of cider. Very full after. So dinner was oatcakes, cream cheese and a lovely spicy tomato chutney. And white wine. Feel like I need a snack now.

PieonaBarm · 14/06/2025 20:53

We've had Agra Ginger Chicken (Me) and House Lamb Curry (DH) from the Mowgli cook book. I'm not keen on lamb in curry but DH loves it hence me making two dishes. Should get top wife points for that! Sides of rice and Tesco Nan Bread. Mowgli Angry Chicken thighs in the oven for DH for work.

Myfridgeiscool · 14/06/2025 20:54

I found something in the freezer that I thought was some sort of tomato based pasta sauce, it turned out to be Thai red curry.

caringcarer · 14/06/2025 20:56

Been out all day. Cricket training with younger foster son this morning. Spoons breakfast. Straight on to elder foster sons cricket match. Had a nice picnic. Takeaway stuffed crust pizza on the way home for dinner. Foster sons shower then younger one just going to bed now. Tomorrow we have elder foster son playing in a county game miles away so yet another cricket packet weekend. At least it has been sunny and I didn't have to cook tonight.

TwinklyRoseTurtle · 14/06/2025 20:57

Chinese takeaway here, with lots left over for lunch tomorrow 😋

dontforgetme · 14/06/2025 20:57

Cheesy chips with spicy chicken. Super late as we’ve been out all day, I’m so hungry, 16 mins to go!

onlyhereforthefood · 14/06/2025 20:58

We had a spontaneous BBQ- sausages, burgers, souvlaki style skewers, home made sweet potato fries, salads and lots of bread!

CatteryCatz · 14/06/2025 18:21

We’re having one of those Old El Paso enchiladas kits - with fake chicken, homemade guacamole, lots of cheese and salsa. A side salad too.

Edited

We had the same but with the crispy chicken. Really enjoyed it.

Toasted tiger bread sandwich with two eggs fried in butter and some ketchup. And a green smoothie. It was lovely.
