Please settle this debate - what colour is this top?

Not a trick question, just genuinely what colour would you say this is?

Greige! The colour picker says it's RGB 160, 150, 140, which would make it not purple (not enough blue, too much green) but a brownish grey.

That's from your photo, though, which looks like it's taken in warm light. The lighting would give it a yellow cast (red + green). There's much more blue in daylight, so your seller might be telling the truth! If you haven't got an adjustable LED lamp, try it in the torch from your phone. Or wait until daytime ☀

Definitely looks olive green or maybe grey to me. Purple?! No way!

I had this with a pair of shoes on Vinted, sold as gold, they are metallic orange! Maybe you could call it bronze at a push but not gold. I didn't bother complaining, I'll try to sell them. They don't even fit me properly!

It’s grey. I’ve recently had both cataracts done, so I’m seeing colours very clearly these days. Definitely no hint of purple!

Looks Olive green to me, not even a purple hue!

I was going to say it looks greige, but purple , that could be what some call lavender grey.
When we painted some walls a grey shade a few years ago I remember seeing a paint swatch that did look as if it had purple undertones in it so some greys are formulated with purple or blue undertones that can be noticed more in certain lighting conditions.
So you'll have to see what it looks like in different lighting conditions🤷

I would say anthracite. A grey/ purple shift colour.

On my iPad screen, it looks slate grey.

I'd say it's grey but it does appear to have a purple undertone to it
