What would you tell yourself....
I would say do not marry him. You've not wom anything. He'll dictate your life for a long time to come. Also don't get married in the middle of a mental health episode.

10 years? Go visit your brother more. People don't live forever, don't wait until it's too late.

catlovingdoctor · 03/06/2025 22:14

ditch those people sooner, and seek out new friends

legyeleven · 03/06/2025 22:14

Don’t doubt yourself. You are smarter than you think

Rubyfire · 03/06/2025 22:20

He’s a high functioning addict and not the perfect, stress free fellow that he wants everyone to believe he is.

TobiasForgesContactLense · 03/06/2025 22:27

10 years ago I was 4 months pregnant and really couldn't believe that I would actually bring a baby home. I had just turned 39 and it felt like my last chance.

So I would tell myself that it will be ok. You will hear someone call you mummy even if there are some days where you have to take a deep breath because maybe you don't need to hear the word quite so often.

ChitterChatter1987 · 03/06/2025 22:41

I would tell myself.....

Buy a house rather than getting stuck in the rental market.

Wait to conceive a baby until AFTER getting married rather than stupidly and impatiently doing so afew months before (because my friend did) and ending up having a miscarriage on my wedding day 😥

notprincehamlet · 03/06/2025 23:15

Don't sell your house without having another one lined up - you REALLY don't know what life's going to throw at you

TheGrimSmile · 03/06/2025 23:27

Check your breasts!

ClarabelleRose · 03/06/2025 23:29

You will get through this, it does get better. You will always miss him, but you will be ok.

Apillthatmakesyousayalltherightstuff · 03/06/2025 23:30

It's not costochondritis, demand a cardiology appointment.

AnneLovesGilbert · 03/06/2025 23:32

Having a baby is going to be so so much harder than you think and you’ll go to some horrible places but in time it’ll all work out.

NotanotherboxofFrogs · 03/06/2025 23:33

This will pass. It .might pass like a kidney stone but it will pass.

CuppaWhiteTea · 03/06/2025 23:34

Open an ISA! I still haven’t.

Freetodowhatiwant · 03/06/2025 23:36

You’ll eventually leave him, it will be hard but it will be ok.

You’re stronger than you think!

Find someone who will introduce that business to you earlier!!

ArtemisiaTheArtist · 03/06/2025 23:39

Spend more time with your daughter, despite not having much in common with her.

Stop eating so much crap.

Save up money to extend the lease.

Dump him.

Kaftanqween · 03/06/2025 23:40

Keep working. Your husband earns enough and your children demand your time but if you let work slip when you know you’re the smartest in the room, you’ll end up in ten years thinking ‘what could I have achieved?’

WhatsitWiggle · 03/06/2025 23:42

Divorce now, it's not going to get any better and your parents will help with buying him out of the house. Don't stay stuck with a cheating asshole just because you think you can't afford to go it alone.

DirtyBird · 03/06/2025 23:46

Don’t let him weasel his way back into your life, go NC and live your life

Breadandsticks · 04/06/2025 01:53

Make friends. Don’t be so shy.

LaLaLaLavaChChChChicken · 04/06/2025 02:18

Eat less, move more.

WearyAuldWumman · 04/06/2025 02:27

10 years?

Stop giving too much of yourself to work. Spend more time with your mum. You only have a few days left.

Cherish your husband. You're being proactive with the doctors, but you need to do more. Stop worrying about causing offence.

Stop pussyfooting around his kids. Tell them that they need to show him more appreciation.

When it comes to the funeral, if they can't even attend then tell them to keep their nose out of the arrangements. Stop being nice to his ex: she'll try to interfere again.

When she comes to your door, tell her to butt out. You were married for 27 years - you are not some kind of junior wife, no matter how much she might try to convince you. Tell her to go bother her latest boyfriend.

MayaPinion · 04/06/2025 03:33

Yes, he is gay. It’s not you. Leave him now.

StarlightLady · 04/06/2025 04:58

I would ask myself how many more signs would l need before l woke up to the fact that l was bisexual?

DisruptiveCumin · 04/06/2025 05:11

Don't be so afraid, it'll turn around just fine for you.
Also don't give in to that stress eating habit that seems to build up, you'll regret it and editing your body in Photoworks won't help you love yourself. Learn how to take proper care of yourself and your own mental well-being instead.

RealPearlDuck · 04/06/2025 05:21

He's not worth it. Actually, many of them aren't worth it, but don't worry, you'll meet an amazing man soon.
