Dd is in Copenhagen and she’s left her phone charger at her ex-boyfriends which is three hours away. She’s only just broken up with him and she’s a sobbing mess and saying about suicide (she’s tried once before).

Does anyone know the Comfort Hotel in Copenhagen and where she might be able to get a charger?? She says there are no shops nearby. Without one she can’t get her flight details for tomorrow or contact anyone as she desperately needs to do in this situation.

Any help at all appreciated x

Has she asked the hotel reception?

There are loads of shops nearby (inc a mobile phone repair shop down the next side street) they will be able to direct her to if they don't have one.

NicolaCasanova · 29/05/2025 18:55

Firstly ask the hotel staff.

NicolaCasanova · 29/05/2025 18:56

Can you phone the hotel and ask? They will speak English, if you don’t speak Danish.

NicolaCasanova · 29/05/2025 18:57

Is it the hotel at the airport? In the airport there is very likely to be a shop selling phone chargers.

PoloGirl · 29/05/2025 18:57

She isn’t there yet. And needs charge on her phone to find her way there. She has 16% and I’ve told her to switch it off for now so she can at least get to the hotel.

If she’s at the airport hotel there’s a big netto supermarket very close.

Most hotels have loads of chargers because they get left behind so often. There's a good chance they'll have one at the desk she can ask to use.

If she can't find her way there tell her to jump in a taxi and they will take her.

Littletreefrog · 29/05/2025 19:00

She needs to go and talk to the hotel staff they will help.

Barrenfieldoffucks · 29/05/2025 19:00

Call the hotel, or Google the address and look for phone stores nearby. Or any supermarket really, most shops nowadays sell charging cables etc.

Or ask at reception, they will probably have something she can use. At the same time, ask reception if they will print her flight details etc for her, and you email them? Ask them to book her a taxi for whatever time she needs so that she can get to the airport.

I appreciate she is heartbroken, but honestly, there are so many ways around this you would do well to be calmly bolstering and helping organise and not feeding into the panic.

WhereAreMyKids · 29/05/2025 19:03

Sorry if I'm being dumb, but where is she exactly? On a plane, the streets?

NicolaCasanova · 29/05/2025 19:04

If she has reserved the hotel already, they will just need her name and her ID to check her in, they don’t need her booking email.

PoloGirl · 29/05/2025 19:08

@BurningmrsThank you! I guess I was wrong about the airport

On the train to Copenhagen

@PoloGirl is it the Comfort Hotel in Vesterbro? On Vesterbrogade 23/29 ?

Temporaryname158 · 29/05/2025 19:13

When she gets to Copenhagen she can ask for info/and old school map from tourist information to get her to her hotel. There are plenty of nettos and local shops where she can buy a charger, probably in the station itself.

lousandjays · 29/05/2025 19:14

I highly recommend you encourage her to speak to people directly about getting a phone charger. It will help her to settle down if she has some decent human interaction. Definitely the staff at the hotel to ask about a phone charger as the first port of call. The poor thing, break ups at that age are so hard, it is so hard for you that she is away too.

CyberStrider · 29/05/2025 19:15

There is more than one Comfort hotel in Copenhagen, there's one in Vesterbro as well as the airport. (And one on Malmö which I wouldn't mention apart from the fact that you mention Swedish help in the title?)

She might find that the hotel has usb ports so only need a cable and might be able to borrow one so I'd tell her to get to the hotel and check there first.

I have no idea. Never been to Sweden

Is she going to Copenhagen or somewhere in Sweden (and, if so, which town in Sweden)? Just so people can help find the right hotel.

Is she in Sweden or Copenhagen? I don't think any specific advise can be given until we know what country she is in. But general advice use if find tourist info, or a friendly local in a cafe etc and ask for directions to hotel. Once in hotel talk to the staff about a charger and anything else she may need.

BlueyNeedsToFuckOff · 29/05/2025 19:25

Copenhagen station has a shopping centre which is normally open late so she might be able to find a charger there. But Google tells me it’s Ascension Day so I don’t know if that affects the opening hours

Lunde · 29/05/2025 19:26

If she is on the train then she could try asking fellow passengers if she could borrow a charger and charge her phone for a bit as many train services have USB plugs to charge devices - either on the wall or under the seat
