No WiFi at Haven site

Hi, we're going to Hafan y Mor in Pwllheli soon but despite claiming they have free WiFi, they really don't. It's totally unusable so we have no Internet whilst there. Its a good thing that we'll be spending more family time and less/no screen time, but we'd like to access the Internet to look at weather forecasts, plans trips out, look for local supermarkets and so-on.

Two questions really:

  1. Is it possible that Haven do this deliberately so that people spend more time (and therefore money) within the park itself?
  2. Is there a gadget that'll give us WiFi whilst we're there?

Thanks!

It’s called a phone ? Most people have mobiles these days

The OP obviously doesn’t have data signal either, hence trying to connect to the WiFi.

The caravans on the very sea front cardigan view bay when we stayed the signal and data on both EE and 02 was fine.

The more densely populated part by the events we definitely struggled with connection.

Perfectly healthy not to have constant internet access on your phone. It's not compulsory.

There were limits to the mobile coverage at Blackrock Sands as well.

I've thought that about MN for years. Innocent and totally non-inflammatory threads attract the utter bozos and I could never work out why. I left MN for a couple of years due to the levels of catiness and unprovoked bitching in the least likely of threads. Not sure why I came back tbh.

Thank you so much to those of you who gave useful replies. I'm looking into a couple of options including the possibility of paying extra and also a portable router type system.

In fairness to some people who replied, I didn't make it clear in my OP that I was talking about mobile data as well as WiFi and I apologise for the lack of clarity.

To those of you who said things like 'plan everything before you go' or 'look out of the window for the weather forecast', you don't really warrant replies but I'll give you one. We COULD plan before we go, but there are 6 of us going including 2 small children so depending on the weather, our plans may need to change. We could plan a beach trip one afternoon only to find its throwing it down and need alternative ideas. And yes, we do need to plan some ideas in advance (thanks for that tip, Sherlock). Its useful to be able to browse, plan ahead or at short notice etc on the day and not always possible to swan off to a public place at any time you like.

Would we cope with no Internet whatsoever in the accommodation? Yes, of course we would. Do we want to? No. That's not what this thread is about so either please consider the questions at hand with helpful replies or kindly sod off. I didn't ask your option on whether we should plan ahead. This is not your holiday and when you go away you can do as you please.

Edited

You didn’t need to clarify, it was obvious you meant or phone signal. It’s also normal to think what shall we do on the wet days or the sunny days , what attractions are nearby and need to know weather in advance.
Hope you are able to access the premium option.
