I'm 65 and take one tablet for each
blood pressure
High cholesterol
Cancer
Hayfever
Calcium for my bones.
Turmeric for joint problems.

I thought of taking collagen for my skin and nails but don't want to overload my body.

prescribed statins (very reluctantly … )
joint supplement
omega oil supplement.

marilyntaylor · 25/05/2025 21:45

I’m 64 and I don’t take anything

KickHimInTheCrotch · 25/05/2025 21:53

I'm 47, I find take anything except an occasional hay-fever tablet. I buy multi vitamins occasionally but I forget to take them.

I'm always knackered so could probably do with getting my bloods checked as it's been a few years.

Angrymum22 · 25/05/2025 22:12

This thread has made me feel so much better. I thought I was on my own re the long list of meds I take

Lisinopril, nifedipine and furosamide for hypertension

statins

omeprazole for reflux , a side effect of taking hypertension meds

Anastrazole for post breast cancer

antihistamines for side effects of anastrazole
( furosamide is also for fluid retention in joints caused by anastrazole)

Supplements
magnesium, vit B12 and vit D

Statins were not absolutely necessary but my cholesterol was borderline. Recent studies suggest it is useful as an adjunct drug for breast cancer. It has been shown to be helpful in reducing incidence of secondaries.

allergies:
2 asthma inhalers:
1- 2 puffs twice a day
2- 2 puffs once a day
Have a blue one if needed (I rarely take it as I hate it- once a month maybe)
PPI once a day at bedtime
montelukast, antihistamine, beconase and steroid cream

chronic migraines:
amitrityline- preventetive
losartin
when got migraine aura- triptan, antiemetic, codeine+paracetamol

supplements-
vitamin D & iron as deficient
evening primrose oil- suggested by breast surgeom

ibuprofen- like most people, for those general aches and pains!

You sound to have well controlled asthma . I am the same with clenal 100 2x2 a day but am much older at 78 so you can have a long happy life with it l do have vitamin D for what the inhalers take out . All the best

Edited

I also don't have high cholesterol ( well "borderline") but because I have vasospastic angina and AF plus kidney disease post full kidney failure they put me on astrovastin alongside my other meds as it protects heart health
I know it's different circumstances but I thought I'd chime in

wlv12 · 25/09/2025 04:30

43 and take

citalopram
propranolol
tramadol (not daily)
omeorazole (not daily)
prescription for sumatriptan as required
vitamin D (vegan)
vegan multivitamin

NettleandBramble · 25/09/2025 08:24

48
B12
A good B complex, includes folate
Electrolyte powder for the potassium has 1g vitamin C too and I add additional salt
Magnesium
Collagen powder in my coffee

If ill, additional vitamin c, zinc and vitamin D

I would encourage anyone on ppis to keep an eye on their b12 status.

Clockface222 · 25/09/2025 08:36

Mid 40s and take HRT, multivitamin containing methylated b vitamins and bone supplement with calcium, k2, magnesium, d3.

All due to early menopause due to genetic condition and low bone density.

I also manage reflux using dgl liquorice and slippery elm as I refuse to take a ppi.

ApricotCheesecake · 25/09/2025 08:38

I'm 51. Nothing.

It’s not a random selection of people.

People who take a lot are more likely to have picked the thread and more likely to respond

Around 75% of adults in UK take either prescription meds and/or supplements.

Looking at prescription meds alone around 60% of adults aged 40-65 take one or more rising to 85% in the 65+ age group.
