And approximately how old are you?

I’m 40 and there were always multiple Kevins in a class.

In High school it was Kevin again for the boys and Fiona and Catherine for the girls. There were about 4 of each in my class.

Early 50s and from Northern England here.
Most common girls names in my year were Debbie, Karen, Sharon, Joanne, Tracey, Louise, Alison, Jane, Sarah and Claire. Outliers were Margaret, Florence and Wendy.
Boys names: Paul, Darren, Michael, Lee, Kevin, Andrew, Richard and Wayne. Outliers were Brian, Roy and Ray. Lots of boys were named after their dads, including my brother, whose name isn't on that list.

I’m 39. Never knew any Kevins. Multiple Paul’s and Hayley’s though. And nearly every girl had the middle name Louise, myself included.

The most common girls’ names I remember from school were Susan, Jane, Sarah, Caroline, Catherine and Elizabeth.

The boys were called Simon, Peter, David, Stephen and John.

I love reading these, especially the classic older ones. All kids nowadays seem to have silly ‘ie’ names.

Numbersareeasier · 25/05/2025 22:42

All the usual 80’s names and randomly 5 Charlene’s. This was secondary. So strange I’ve never met another Charlene as an adult!

Pigtailsandall · 25/05/2025 22:50

Megan and Lauren, plus a lot of Jessicas. My sister's year had 3 Jennifers

I can't remember the boys at all
