And approximately how old are you?

I’m 40 and there were always multiple Kevins in a class.

In High school it was Kevin again for the boys and Fiona and Catherine for the girls. There were about 4 of each in my class.

Joanne, Claire, Freya and Emily for girls

Randomly had 3 Barnabys in my class although I think that was a weird coincidence, I don't think I've come across an adult Barnaby!

I'm 40 too

I like these threads.
I'm late 50s.
Amanda, Elizabeth, Alison, Samantha, Sharon, Melanie, Debbie and Karen were popular girls names in my school
Boys were Julian, Simon, Mark, Gary, Darren, Graham, David, Richard and Paul

I remember a Barbara and a Brenda but they were outliers with older parents.

See also Dennis and Colin.

Early 30s here.

Sarah and Emma were very common for girls, always a few in each class. Hannah too.

Matthew and Christopher for boys. Also, Ross! Which seems to have completely disappeared for babies.

I’m 32, in Canada

When I was growing up we often had multiples of Matthew, Caitlyn, Sarah, Michael, Anna, Amanda

Now in my kids’ primary classes, there’s a lot more variation in names, way fewer instances of overlap in a given class. In a given grade there are multiples of: Aiden, Charlie, Emerson, Jeremy, Madeleine

Andoutcomethewolves · 25/05/2025 15:13

Oh yes and Jennifer and Rebecca, I went to a tiny village primary and only had 6 other girls in my year, two Rebeccas, two Jennifers, a Joanne and a wild card Clementine 🤣

Macwoodfleet · 25/05/2025 15:15

Yy to Jennifer and Helen too. And Andrew and Steven

Joolsin · 25/05/2025 15:17

Oh, I've just remembered there were two Heathers and two Jennifers in my 1980s secondary school class too.

I'm mid 30s and seemed to be the only female whose middle name wasn't Louise or Marie
