Which tracker is best to track my children?

Sayithowiseeit · 23/05/2025 23:38

I'm trying to find a good tracker for my children, the itagpro sounds good but I couldn't work out if it was hyped up as the review person had a discount on it.

The air tag, can it only be used with an i phone? As I have an Android.

Is there any other good ones? I need it to be accurate and be able to manage distances.

Any help would be appreciated please
Thank you

My and my partner use the Life360 app. It’s incredibly precise.
Are you hoping to use it without their knowledge?
If recommend the Life360 app with their knowledge and explain its use is for safety.

I second Life360. DH and DS are on android and I am on iPhone and it links us all. You can have set places so I get notifications when DS arrives at school and DH at work

My DD just got a locked down phone with the tracker on it. She can call or sms only a few numbers, I can track her and that's about it.

Trust???

I honestly struggle with this desire to track children. If they know they’re being tracked you’re not equipping them with the skills to deal with whatever situations occur and if they don’t know it’s basically creepy.

I use eufy security tile for my keys. Not perfectly accurate (said i left them a couple of streets away from where they really were). Website now says you can't use with android but i certainly am.

But this is for her children, to make sure they’re safe.

AirTags can be used sensibly, I have one for my dog.

amybabysa · 24/05/2025 00:10

You get AirTags for android phones too OP. Samsung do them, other brands too.

SplendidUtterly · 24/05/2025 00:11

its being tracked by someone who loves you that dulls you to the being cautious of being tracked by others, it sets it up as an expectation that control equals love

I don’t think this is the case at all w kids. A husband doing it is totally different. I do find it weird she can’t just rely on the kids to use their phones though.

Each to their own, but how will tracking keep your child safe?
what is it designed to stop from happening?

faerietales · 24/05/2025 07:04

Why do you need to track your children?

Every time I read threads like this I’m immensely grateful that I grew up when I did.

Sayithowiseeit · 24/05/2025 18:46

Thanks for all the suggestions. I'll have a look at the air tag and the Samsung version, does anyone know what it's called please?

I wonder the same, how does knowing where someone is decrease the risk of whatever it is you're concerned about?

Life 360 app.
We all use it - it’s incredibly useful when I have to take stuff to DH when he’s working anywhere remote, better than his “third big tree on the left, past the pond” directions!
Kids love it because they can see where i am when I’m on my way to pick them up from activities/friends so they can stay in the warm till the last minute.

Jk987 · 24/05/2025 18:55

If they are young, they’re either with you, another family member, trusted friend, teacher etc. why do you need to stork them?

How did manage to survive growing up? No one tracked me. I was expected to come home at a certain time and if the plan changed ring home (from a call box or friends house). When does tracking end, teens, 30s?

Thank you, I've bought these ones, they seem pretty good
