just that really?

These are my weakness. I'd say i have either or every other day but I want to cut them out completely.

Crisps, never. Chocolate, every day.

EmpressaurusKitty · 21/05/2025 21:01

Crisps, hardly ever. A few squares of 100% cocoa chocolate daily, & cake at weekends after my cardio class.

happytobee · 21/05/2025 21:01

Congratulations, have a biscuit that you’re too good to eat. Biscuit

Happiestathome · 21/05/2025 21:04

Every day I’ll have something like a chocolate bar, or a 2 pack of mr Kipling, or a piece of cake. My BMI is the low end of normal. I eat 3 meals and 1-2 snacks every day. I’ll continue eating nice food for as long as my body lets me.

flipflop76 · 21/05/2025 21:08

Daily crisps. Chocolate maybe 2 or 3 times a week.

Delatron · 21/05/2025 21:08

I find all the chocolate bars that I used to like taste like shit these days so that helps.
i have a bit of dark chocolate after dinner but M&S dark chocolate is out of stock these days on Ocado so haven’t had any this week.

I used to have crisps and wine on a Friday but have stopped that now due to menopause not being my friend weight wise.

I do drink too much wine at the weekend though which is far worse than a bit of chocolate. Choose your vices..

fussychica · 21/05/2025 21:09

Crisps probably once a fortnight or less. Chocolate 85% a couple of squares once or twice a week.

LAvortonDeLaLitière · 21/05/2025 21:20

Not very often - my poison is cheese. Oh god, how I love cheese.

hangingonfordearlife1 · 21/05/2025 21:29

daily

Hollieandtheivie · 21/05/2025 21:44

Crisps about 4 packets a week.
Chocolate most days. I love mega buttons the best, but will make do with chocolate spread on a bagel.
Lattes everyday.
No wine/alcohol unless out. Don't go out that often.
Healthy bmi (just) but could do with losing half a stone.

Smoronic · 21/05/2025 21:46

The real question is how often do you eat those things while hiding in a cupboard and emerging only to insist your dc eat nothing but organic kale?

Idratherbepaddleboarding · 21/05/2025 21:48

Crisps- not very often, if they’re available at a party or something. I’m not a big fan.
Chocolate- also rarely but I had to go cold turkey as I used to eat it every day. I don’t really think about it anymore though. I had some dark chocolate digestives last Friday to keep me going when I had an essay to write but before that I don’t actually remember.

StarDolphins · 21/05/2025 21:50

Every day for me. Crisps and chocolate then Fri & Sat and Sunday some weeks I have Prosecco with my crisps and chocolate!

I do make sure I have my crisps & chocolate after my salad though so I think I’m actually very healthy!

MJalltheway · 21/05/2025 21:56

Pre-MJ, it'd be daily for crisps. Less often for chocolate, but crisps and biscuits were my absolute downfall. Now I haven't had any crisps or biscuits since January. I find it much easier to go cold turkey and cut them out completely than cut down.

apricotdreams · 21/05/2025 21:57

Every day

InterruptingRabbit · 21/05/2025 21:59

Chocolate basically never. I don’t have a sweet tooth.

I eat too many crisps. I definitely have more of a salt tooth!

Funnywonder · 21/05/2025 22:05

Every day. Especially crisps.

GreenFressia · 21/05/2025 22:09

Ah these are my nemesis. I'm on a medication that for most people eventually leads to high cholesterol so I've been consciously monitoring.

I bloody love chocolate.

Good version of me has managed to get my chocolate consumption down to a half teaspoon of cacao powder daily mixed into porridge with ginger, cinammon and blueberries.

When you break down what chocolate is about, it's a) caffeine b) magnesium c) taste d) sugar. Cacao powder delivers all of those plus sweetness of sugar can come from fruit. It hits the craving.

I'm also trying dates as a chocolate hack, as dates have fibre. I bought some nice dates, stuffed them with a little bit of peanut butter, and dipped them in chocolate, then froze them. Its like a mini snickers.

Its just training myself to remember that I've got them though, instead of chocolate, as I am battling 30 years of habit.

I also love a salt and vinegar crisp. It's the crunch. I suspect they aren't that healthy in any variety.

My current hack is some boring Aldi breadsticks which I roll in olive oil, rosemary and salt, and stick in the freezer. They are not terrible if I did binge on them, but not that exciting for me to tempted to binge.

GreenFressia · 21/05/2025 22:12

Cripes- I actually don't think it's possible for me to give up chocolate in all forms.

I would sink into a deep depression. I have tried for a week and I am bereft. I don't drink caffeine (regularly) or alcohol (virtually never) so its all I've got left.

I am curious though - it would be an interesting to see if I can give it up.

CoubousAndTourmalet · 21/05/2025 19:14

Never. Both give me migraine so I don't touch them any more. Sad but true.

Interesting that crisps give you a migraine @CoubousAndTourmalet . Chocolate can be a trigger for me but not crisps. Do you know what it is about crisps? Salt?

Runnersandtoms · 21/05/2025 22:17

Chocolate most days, I have no self control could easily eat a big bar in one day. Crisps I could mostly take or leave. Maybe eat some once in a fortnight or so unless someone buys really yummy fancy ones.

Yes, too much salt, I suspect, I'm also triggered by other salty foods.

henlake7 · 21/05/2025 22:24

I have a treat day once a week, it usually includes chocolate and crisps.
I'm on a diet at the moment but having that one day off really helps!

giddyauntie123 · 21/05/2025 22:25

I do love crisps - probably every other day. I get cravings for salt and vinnegar crisps after dinner. It's a very bad habbit

RedBeech · 21/05/2025 22:28

Most days. The majority of my food is very healthy but I have a weakness for crisps. If DH buys them - which he does, often, even though I ask him not to, I eat them. But I mainly eat ready salted and figure that it's only potatoes and oil, which are normal foodstuffs and salt, which is good for my low blood pressure, so not too UPF.

Chocolate far less often. If it's in the house, I eat but I never buy it. I had one square today but the bar it came from had been sitting in the fridge for over a week.
