What is happening? Never in recent weeksliving memory has such a thing happened. Is it the end times?

I know!! Although I cannot wait for the British classic:

”At least the plants / garden will be happy!”
”the plants needed it though didn’t they?”

haha!

Blunget · 21/05/2025 06:15

Although I admit I did just wake and look out thinking exactly the above 😁😁

I’m famous for not even being able to keep a cactus alive, and I now have plants in my garden that are meant to be there. I’m so sick of watering them! I’m quite glad to see a little bit of rain.

RedRosesAndGypsophelia · 21/05/2025 06:22

Yep, I have been feverishly watering plants for weeks, mother nature can take over for a while and give me a break!

Newnameahoy · 21/05/2025 06:24

The lightest of drizzle here. I'm planning to go outside with the family and do a rain dance to the tune of Africa by Toto - except the words will be "we bless the rains down in miiiiid Kent"

Octopusespunchforfun · 21/05/2025 06:24

If this continues today, tomorrow we’ll have people saying what an awful Spring it’s been and where’s the nice weather 😁

Octocat · 21/05/2025 06:29

What?! That can’t be right, surely you should report that to someone?
All perfectly fine here in NI where our plants normally need snorkels.

CaptainFuture · 21/05/2025 06:29

And ready for the chorus of....

Well that's it then isn't it...? We've had our summer.....😐😐

CanadianJohn · 21/05/2025 06:30

You think you have problems? Here, the weather forecast is for a huge ball of fire in the sky tomorrow. Maybe it's the end of the world!

JaninaDuszejko · 21/05/2025 06:57

I'm in the NE, still dry here, although there is a crying black cloud on the weather forecast for Saturday, not quite sure what that means?

canyon2000 · 21/05/2025 06:59

I have to take the dog out soon and I have forgotten where my raincoat is!

JaninaDuszejko · 21/05/2025 06:59

(I am desperate for rain, I've never seen it so dry in the garden, I'm furiously watering my newly planted plants every day)

Librariesrule · 21/05/2025 07:10

It's just typical that I have a day of in person meetings in different buildings so will be traipsing around Bristol getting wet and I can't find my umbrella.

Octavia64 · 21/05/2025 07:12

I bloody hope I get some rain, so fed up of watering plants.

Bestnottalkaboutit · 21/05/2025 07:13

AND THE HOT YELLOW THING IN THE SKY IS GONE!

U53rn8m3ch8ng3 · 21/05/2025 07:13

No rain here 😔

ErrolTheDragon · 21/05/2025 07:17

U53rn8m3ch8ng3 · 21/05/2025 07:13

No rain here 😔

Me neither, in Lancashire - none forecast till Saturday and then is only predicted to be light.

Iamthemoom · 21/05/2025 07:19

Currently soaked from salvaging my drenched garden cushions from the outdoor furniture! This wasn’t on my weather app! End times indeed!

ShiftySquirrel · 21/05/2025 07:20

We've had rain here to. And had left the parasol outside. We got complacent and should have known that with half term fast approaching that would be it.

Right, yes, well at least the garden doesn't need watering 😉.

MissyB1 · 21/05/2025 07:27

A bit of drizzle here and already I'm fed up of it! Can't bear rain, I'd be happy with a repeat of the long drought of 1976, bloody loved that summer! 😂

ExpressiveDelivery · 21/05/2025 07:29

Huh, not here it's not. Where's my rain? Hopefully it will turn up this afternoon, that's what the forecast says.

SwanOfThoseThings · 21/05/2025 07:31

What, you mean that weird yellow thing that's been up there for the past few weeks has gone away?

user3879208717 · 21/05/2025 07:32

We’ve had a grand total of 0.5ml. Have seen heavier dews!
We have a big garden and a rainwater collection system - can’t recall it ever being dry so early in the year. Came close during Covid I think 2021?
Still, half term next week, it almost certain to rain that week!

TimeForABreak4 · 21/05/2025 07:33

There isn't here yet (South West Scotland) but looks like it's forecast from Saturday and looks as if there's quite a lot of it on its way over next few weeks and likely the whole of the summer holidays as always.

ChardonnaysBeastlyCat · 21/05/2025 07:33

Welcome, water from the sky!

You have been missed.
