Is shaving them not the best ? Should I be using hair removing cream
I don’t really shave them over the winter only when I get my legs out

what should I start using to moisturise them ? Currently use nothing on them

Mine too. I have never moisturised my legs in my life, now I am like a lizard. Bloody menopause. I just use any old moisturiser, currently aveeno, it all seems to help.

ParsnipPuree · 16/05/2025 16:17

Lizard😂🤣 mine past moisturiser just cover them up.

Put on E45 after you shower and before bed.

I like This Works perfect legs skin miracle (or something). It’s a moisturiser with a hint of colour. Easy to apply and has defo helped my legs look better. Also Garnier Body intensive 7 day lotion for really dry areas.

Mine were like that and worse, I had powdery flakes too. Carry on shaving, I think it exfoliates. I tried loads of moisturisers, the first one that got rid of it was Eucerin 10% urea mosturiser applied every day after a shower, it is excellent. Recently I've been using Aveeno skin relief moisturiser for very dry skin, that is excellent too. The secret is to moisturise them every day without fail, that keeps the lizard scales at bay.

Anrom19 · 16/05/2025 16:31

I use Vaseline mature skin rejuvenation , a lot !! Also try and put it on my skin when it’s damp from the shower or bath . Look slightly less lizard like!

JustGotToKeepOnKeepingOn · 16/05/2025 16:45

Just put body lotion on when you get out of the shower. Any brand you like! I’m astonished at how many women don’t moisturise their bodies,
especially legs after shaving. Aveeno is lovely, but any body lotion will do.

piscofrisco · 16/05/2025 17:15

Me too. Exfoliate every shower then slather body lotion on twice daily. I use Aveeno.

fatgirlswims · 16/05/2025 17:34

Cetraben oatmeal is really good and huge pump is £15 but last ages and it really good!

MidnightPatrol · 16/05/2025 17:36

Dry brushing also good for exfoliating prior to moisturising

Goandygo · 16/05/2025 17:37

I've always moisturised my legs.
I put the sealed moisturiser in the bath with me. When I get out, I notice it in the bath so apply straight away.
It's warmed up and by the time I've dressed, dried too.

I second this. I use both of these products and they’re both very good. The This Works Perfect Legs is brilliant in this whether if you haven’t faked tanned.

NeedForSpeed · 16/05/2025 17:42

I moisturise daily when I get out the shower. Wish I'd started it in my teens tbh!! Also works a treat on all my itchiness.

Recommend a pump container - less faff.

Well never had to before
why would I moisturise if I didn’t need to

To stop you getting “old lady legs”. Which this old lady doesn’t have.

Preventative action basically.

All the Aveeno love on this thread when I bought some and now I smell faintly of porridge.

It was the fragrance free one, too. No it’s not; it smells of porridge 🤣

Messycoo · 16/05/2025 21:12

It is essential as we get older to moisturise. It helps to maintain good PH levels and also ,
like doing a skin check of your body and notice any changes to your skin.
I have cared for the elderly and believe me, you can tell the difference with those who look after their skin.
Any type I go for the cheapest, and apply once you have showered or bathed as it helps to keep skin supple.

Surely that's a bit excessive ?

Fragrance free means they haven't added any fragrance to it, not that it doesn't have a fragrance!😋

Inspired by this comment, I dug out my dry body brush yesterday and oh my goodness, what an immediate difference it made to my reptilian legs. Definitely the way to go, followed of course by a truck load of moisturiser.
