Vinted pile does my head in

😆 don’t get me wrong, I love Vinted.
but our spare room is taken over by the piles of things people might not actually buy

  • the toddler clothing bundles cos they grow so fast there’s constant clothes
  • the cheapo fast fashion stuff I bought and now obviously no one else wants it either
  • The really nice baby clothes I’m either waiting to pass on to my sisters or might keep myself but we’re undecided about another.

Omg I literally could have written this word for word 😂 and then having to sift through the piles working up a sweat once something sells !!!

MiddleAgedDread · 12/05/2025 16:35

and then someone buys an item but it's so long since you listed it you can't remember which safe place you put it in!!

QueenAstrid · 12/05/2025 16:37

I’ve been thinking exactly the same this weekend and thought sod it, should I just give it to charity?

I did give an outfit to charity and it promptly sold on Vinted 😣

TheFormidableMrsC · 12/05/2025 16:45

Same here. I got so fed up of it recently that I actually took 6 bags to the air ambulance donation centre, some of the things have been on Vinted for a year so I just admitted defeat. I’ve kept back the stuff I know will sell quickly. Now just to find the time to deal with it all

Daisyvodka · 12/05/2025 16:55

Ugh yes, i have a pile of stuff i need to get rid of that's just taking up space, annoyingly i tried taking down items then taking brand new photos in a different part of the house (different background) and re-listing and I sold 6 out of the 9 items that had been on for weeks previously, within two days. So I know it does work so I can't bring myself to take it to the charity shop just yet!!

Missywelliot · 12/05/2025 16:57

I've got some things that have been on there for a year. I keep meaning to take them to charity.

I swear I make my photos too nice for them to sell even at £1 or £2. Maybe I should be more slap dash when I list.

SheWaits · 12/05/2025 17:03

I realised that selling on Vinted just isn't worth the pittance people want to pay for it. I sell the nice/in demand stuff (e.g. Boden, Trotters) on dedicated fb pages and the rest goes to charity.

Covidisdrivingmecrazy · 12/05/2025 17:05

It’s worse when your teenage daughter won’t let you clear anything out because she might sell it in vinted some day maybe

LivingLaVidaBabyShower · 12/05/2025 17:06

I have a system
2 piles
1 - care about price takes longer to shift
2 - want it gone

2 gets sold in under a week usually and lives dumped in a bag in bottom of single wardrobe. Pile 1 gets the ooh la la treatment and lives on hanger on the rail in single wardrobe

This is exactly why I just could not be bothered with it,

thenewaveragebear1983 · 12/05/2025 17:19

Yep. I list mine, if they’ve not sold in a few weeks, they go to charity. In my experience not much sells after the initial flurry of sales after listing.

thenewaveragebear1983 · 12/05/2025 17:21

Oh and I price it for a quick sale. £1/£2 most items. It’s better to sell 20 at £2 each than to hold out the a fiver on a couple of items.

MoonOnStick · 12/05/2025 17:22

I don't try to sell anything except decent brands. Next, M&S, then brand names only.

If it's not gone in a month, it goes to charity.

Also, price low and sell high. I sell lots around £2 and accept low ball offers in most cases.

Price to sell not to make any serious money back.

pavillion1 · 12/05/2025 17:23

I've deleted mine today , its all going the charity shop

CreateAUsername25 · 12/05/2025 17:24

I leave it on 2 weeks maximum. No sale = charity.
Tbh 99% sells its only ever the odd items to charity

Croquembouchiere · 12/05/2025 17:25

There is so much Shein and Primark stuff on Vinted. I don't think it sells very well unless you maybe price it SUPER low.

I have sold quite a few things on there but quick sales were things from higher end retail stores eg Sezanne and Cos

Westun · 12/05/2025 17:28

Every time I think charity shop I sell an item or two so I list a few more items which creates a mini flurry of sales and then nothing for ages… its an awful cycle and I really hate the extra clutter. I do delete anything that doesn’t have watchers after a few days as I think there probably isn’t the appetite for it .

eqpi4t2hbsnktd · 12/05/2025 17:34

I find things go straight away or not at all...

amooseymoomum · 12/05/2025 17:37

cant move in our house for eBay Vinted and car boot stuff plus boxes of stock from when my shop closed suddenly
I am glad its not me who loses stuff I try to put it in piles so I can just go to the right one pick my item and post no it doesn't work at all i spend half my life running round trying to find some things in hysterics!

ballroomblue · 12/05/2025 18:04

Yep! This is exactly why people just drop off at charity. CBA with it all!

MadamCholetsbonnet · 12/05/2025 18:27

It’s a full blown addiction for me at this stage 😂

My bedroom looks like some kind of textile sweatshop.

I bloody love it though.

sellotape12 · 12/05/2025 20:05

Thankfully I never bought any SheIn or super cheapo stuff. But noticed that lots of Zara stuff won’t shift. The good news is it completely changes your buying habits. Can i say & Other Stories doesn’t sell well either (never liked that brand, their stuff is cheap rayon and viscose) .

Baby clothes are going to the neighbours

Vinted works on an algorithm, you have to be constantly uploading for people to see your items, as well as pricing them correctly (pennies usually!) you need to delete and repost your items regularly or it will never be seen. I would take all your photos when you’re having a sort out, and upload 3 a day rather than say 15 at a time. Advice from an eBay and Vinted reseller x

BexAubs20 · 12/05/2025 20:18

Do a Carboot sale or donate it all to charity. Could not be arsed listing it all, posting it and it taking up room
