Somebody’s trainers squeaking on the floor in Sainsbury’s earlier 😫

What does it for you?

People brushing their teeth

WonderingWanda · 08/05/2025 18:35

Teeth on a fork or spoon.
Nails on a blackboard....my old teacher used to do it if we were too noisy.

AusBoundDD · 08/05/2025 18:42

Very specific but the sound/feeling of a fingernail getting caught on seatbelt material 🤢

Bunnyisputbackinthebox · 08/05/2025 18:43

Ddog cleaning herself...

The self check out voices in supermarkets, especially the Co op. If I'm not in a proper hurry I never use them.

Devilsmommy · 08/05/2025 18:54

The feel/sound of cotton wool being squished. Full body cringe just thinking about it 😵‍💫

Arlanymor · 08/05/2025 18:56

Males and sorry it is males, I have never witness a female doing this who do that loud snotty snort thing, like they can’t be arsed to blow their nose so they suck the snot back into their head. It is the most disgusting thing on earth.

Dutchhouse14 · 08/05/2025 18:57

Sound of cutlery on teeth-my DH eating, swear he never used to be this loud!
People sniffing

HolyStyleFailBatman · 08/05/2025 18:57

One of my colleagues breathing.

The same colleague, chewing gum open-mouthed.

I need a holiday

SeeMyReflection · 08/05/2025 19:02

People whistling

Certain accents

Oh yes, totally agree.

ChippySauce · 08/05/2025 19:22

Oooh and teeth grinding.

And cracking knuckles <shudders>

DPs constant, and I do mean constant except when hes eating or watching something, singing/humming/whistling. Its actually starting to really make me fume hard and I visualise myself throwing something at him.

And cutlery scraping on plates 🤢

vipersputpaidtomylastusername · 08/05/2025 19:25

Knuckles cracking 😡

vipersputpaidtomylastusername · 08/05/2025 19:26

People eating with their mouth open.

I was opposite a man on a train on Tuesday morning who got out a large tupperware of porridge. I heard - and saw - every single grain of it being sloshed about his mouth. I contemplated moving but I was well in to my journey when he got on and was all set up with my laptop, charger etc.
I could see how much he had left so found myself telling myself, ' 8 mouthfuls left, 7....' etc.
Then he got out a banana 😫

Richandstrange · 08/05/2025 19:26

The sound of an engine idling if I'm indoors and there's a car/van/lorry stationary outside. I'm autistic so quite noise sensitive anyway but that particular sound is unbearable for me, especially if it goes on for a long time.

LimeLime · 08/05/2025 20:09

My neighbour clipping his hedge with electric hedge trimmer which he uses in the most inexpert way, clipping a little then stopping, then clipping a little more, and pause and clip, clip, clip, pause, clip, pause.... oh will he never stop!

overitalmost · 08/05/2025 20:20

Apple being chewed 😳

Yes I agree with this one. Plus it’s so bad for air quality.

I also hate the sound of motorcycles. I find that loud roar quite frightening, ridiculous though that sounds.

Others that really bother me:

Loud chewing
Whistling
Yappy dog barking going on for ages

I need to work on being more tolerant. 😬

Sweetpea333 · 08/05/2025 20:29

Crunching an apple! I even hate myself when I eat one!

ChippySauce · 08/05/2025 20:29

People who breathe unnecessarily loudly.
Is that a thing?
I swear one of my housemates at uni was a super loud breather.
Really annoyed the heck out of me 🙉
