Botox - would you?

I really want to go for it but I'm worried I'll end up looking cross eyed or I'll have an allergic reaction or something awful. I'd only go to a registered nurse and I only want something subtle due to the lines under my eyes. No lines on forehead. Would probably top up once or twice per year.

Has anyone reading this had botox and do you regret it? I'm 40.

I emphasise with your face not being your anymore, and Botox restoring you back to your own self. The last year my neck is not mine anymore either sadly 😅and I am too scared to do anything invasive like a facelift so I will have to get used to that.

It doesn't look quite the same after 50 though. Your face is changing at a rate of knots around this age and suddenly botox stands out. A smooth forehead coupled with developing jowls, skin laxity and general sag just don't go together.

Whoops, quoted the wrong post.

A friend of mine who was a concert violinist has had to have it in her neck for years.

I would love to have it on my forehead, I'm so scowly and tired.

Lucky me already had it in my bottom for anal fissures.......

I got it in my oesophagus and now I can burp like a normal person!

(I’ve also been getting it in my face for about 13 years, I was very liney)

Tulipsanddaffodils3 · 08/08/2025 22:20

Im 37 and have had it twice and I love it. I only get it in my frown lines as im happy to look older I just hate looking cross/ permanent scowling. I also have hooded eyes so dont want to risk the forehead.

I have once and would again but it didn’t make such a tremendous difference to my resting face that I’m rushing back to have another go just yet for the price.

You might want filler under the eyes.

You need to keep going. Just once isn’t going to help much, if you keep doing it you see the improvement. Your practitioner should have explained this.

I am 66, nearly 67. I had my first botox shortly before my 50th. However, I live in Europe, where these treatments are very strictly regulated and much more expensive than in the UK.
Typically I pay around €600 per session. Does not matter if I am in Germany or Switzerland, but administered by qualified doctors with years of experience.
When I first went for it I did tell my boyfriend, who was not exactly encouraging! When he saw the results he said, oh you just look like you had a good night's sleep (haven't had one of those since 2008 for many reasons).
Choose your practitioner wisely.
Don't start too early.
If you are getting 11s, get your eyes tested first.
