Anyone worked for someone famous?

I’m working in a company for an influencer/z list celeb. She’s well known in a certain group of people and hangs around with some pretty famous faces. She has her own fashion company.

I don’t report into her, but work closely with her and she is an utter bitch. The way she comes across on social media is so…different. Her intern films her for content daily and she puts on such a smiley show. When the camera is off, she’s rude, demanding, bitches about everyone in the team, including members of the team that go above and beyond to make her business a success and make her happy…I could go on.

she contradicts herself constantly, making me feel like I’m going mad. I know if I died tmrw she wouldn’t care. She cares only about herself and her success. She’s not even nice about her husband, who is such a lovely guy.

I want to get out this company asap. It’s just difficult to know where to go and what to do next so in the meantime…has anyone else experienced similar?

I have lost all respect for this woman. She is awful and everyone that works for her knows it.

Ruby Earring?

So I've now read the whole thread and realised who this is. I have zero ability to figure these things out evidently, still racking my brains to even start to guess on the ones with initials! Please just say their names!!! Some of us are terrible at puzzles 🤣

Bollindger · 25/04/2025 09:50

I worked as a Nanny for a famous couple.
He drove cars she was singer.
I was treated like family.
Horses , holidays the works.
Best bosses ever, and when we went out they became more stern, lots of articles were nasty about they were. Not true.

Haveapotato · 25/04/2025 09:56

Ex used to work in TV so worked with a lot of celebs - he always used to say how lovely Kate Moss was, really down to earth, always used to have a cup of tea and a fag with the crew at break times. He said Cheryl Tweedy/Cole was horrible and rude though.

I worked for Lady Rothermere (Bubbles). She was known for being bubbly and sociable. Have never worked for a more miserable person. A maid would come in at 6 p.m. to wash and dress her; even put her knickers on. After this, a hair and make-up girl would arrive to do her face and wig. The whole day was spent in bed taking pills and shouting at staff.

I used to work with her son (the lucky sperm as he is known in the industry) - he's very unpleasant.

I’ve seen various people say Danny Dyer is a really nice guy and far smarter/savvy than he lets on. He sounds like an intriguing guy who would be good to meet.

Years ago someone I know was in a pub, Danny Dyer was at another table. There was some kind of trouble, IIRC some bloke mouthing off at DD looking for a rise out of him. The chap I know stepped in and sorted the troublemaker out, DD was really grateful and took him out on an all day bender!

wobblyweasel · 25/04/2025 10:09

@missdeamenor My Aunt used to Nanny for her. She said pretty much the same thing.

I’ve had both male and female bosses. The women were much better bosses - more organised, more empathetic and less ego. Also they all looked at my face when talking to me . . .

I’ve never had a male boss come on to me or make me feel uncomfortable in that way, even though I was very attractive when younger. I’ve had male colleagues do that but never bosses. I just think I’ve been lucky over the years that I got good natured male bosses. The two women worked in the same place, one was a line manager, the other above her. Everyone (male and female colleagues) disliked them, they were too aggressive, too in your face, too petty. I’m not exaggerating to say there would be a tangible lightness in the atmosphere when they were absent. If I got a lovely female boss then that would be great but I can only go on my own personal experience.

Why give these ridiculous clues? Most people can work out that you’re talking about Ruby Wax so why all the cryptic nonsense? 🙄

My post was in response to a post early on in this thread by @Harpey who said she had worked for a well known mental health guru who was toxic and a narcissist.
But she wasn’t named. Many PPs on here have made posts about famous people and named them, or not named them, or not named them but have given clues - yes, sometimes cryptic clues but usually light-heartedly.
@Harpey had chosen not to name this person, and all I did was start the guessing game as others had started other guessing games. I haven’t had time to read the whole thread yet, but another PP made an amusing guess about this guru, and other PPs found my post amusing. AFAIK you are the only person to complain and of course you have the right to refer to these posts as ridiculous cryptic nonsense.
In that case maybe this isn’t the thread for you and you might be happier not reading it’?

A friend of mine was in the Civil Service & worked in the department that Tony Benn was Minister for - she said he was lovely to work for, the nicest Minister she ever had.

Can confirm. He had the same rare illness as me and sent a book about the illness for me to read when I was able. His brother lived on my street when I was growing up. ♥️

Stephanie Beecham and Naomi Campbell are, I'm told by cabin crew friends, a complete nightmare. Arrogant, very demanding and also rude to staff. Latter got banned from one airline for a while.

Gordon Ramsey is nothing like his on screen persona e.g Hells Kitchen. Very charming and likeable.

Naomi is vile. She used to stay in the same penthouse as P Diddy regularly at my place of work. She used to upset absolutely everyone for no good reason. I’m sure she’s from Croydon. Obviously has forgotten her roots

wobblyweasel · 25/04/2025 10:32

DDs ex used to work in catering on film sets. He said that Minnie Driver was an absolute nightmare - right up her own arse! Gerard Butler was a lovely and very polite man. Emmy Rossum was the sweetest person ever. Matt Damon was one of the guys, played poker with staff/crew. Johnny Depp was a friendly and funny.

I know what you mean; but some people are a little cautious about potential legal repercussions if they just come out and state the actual name.

If I wrote "Bob Fleming is a terrible arsehole who ate my cat, pooed in my wellies and rewired my TV remote so that the channel buttons all routed to a different channel and the up-volume button turned the volume down", then if Bob read that, I could be sued for libel if I have no hard, undeniable evidence that he did those things.

However, if I said "A well known 90s TV celebrity with a West Country accent, a love of folk music and antique horse brasses, and a neverending violent-sounding distinctive throaty cough", people who were familiar with him would instantly know; but legally speaking, it could be anybody else, so he couldn't sue me! Nor would his name come up in any Google searches that his lawyers might routinely make.

Apologies to anybody out there who actually is called Bob Fleming and is also a terrible arsehole!

I wasn't commenting on the reason he was cancelled- more the loss of an outstanding historian generally.

So maybe step down from that high horse.

Maybe you should have said 'shame he was an awful racist' rather than bemoaning the fact he was cancelled then.

Have to watch what wording I use here.....
I work in finance in the motorsport industry (let's leave it there...)
I have met many .... 'participants' in this sport. Worst I have ever met to date, is a current 'participant' for a team who has a principle called after Dorothy's dog in Wizard of Oz (see where I'm going with this?). Anyway, this 'participant' is British... and an absolute nightmare. Clearly never been brought up to treat people with respect, (respect your elders ;) ) and looks down at us mere staff. Once made a comment to a pregnant member of my team and asked her why she was coming back to work, she said she couldn't afford not to, he simply said to her, whilst doing that bloody head tilt, "shame" then sauntered off with his head held high.
Don't get me started on his dodgy GF....

Anyway, I'm still in motorsport, but work elsewhere now where, so far, the more popular 'participants' are very nice and down to Earth.

Oh nooo, not GR? That's ruined my day as I've always thought he comes across as lovely 😂

Are MV and LN nice? Not sure why I'm only using the initials haha

Anyone ever met Stacey she seems lovely on Loose Women

My friend met Stacey S. It was at some big event and my friend was in the middle of a panic attack. She said Stacey and her team were absolutely lovely and stayed with her a while to make sure she was OK.

I used to do a lot of work for Ginger Gilmour, ex wife of Dave from Pink Floyd. Very demanding and much the perfectionist work wise but, personality wise, really warm and lovely.

I also worked somewhere where a few famous people came in regularly. Fanny Craddock was absolutely awful and I had to try hard not to laugh at her pencil line 'eyebrows' that were drawn on halfway up her forehead. Christopher Timothy was the most rude, arrogant man I've had the misfortune of meeting.

Dominic Wood of 'Dick n Dom' is adorable. So polite and just lovely!

Met Dom once when he was really quite drunk. He started a game of Bogies, but using the C word 😂LOVED him!

I'm guessing OP is talking about Molly Mae or Charlotte Crosby

Charlotte Crosby is no where near the league of Molly Mae. Also both not married. I’m going to say Sam Faires

Mr Teasy Weasy?

Did you just make this up?

No she didn't

He was the first celebrity stylist back in the day

Plenty of my family died but I wouldn't be that rude to strangers! It was Peaches not Pixie who Od'd btw.

@Angrygirl

I live near Bob Geldof in Faversham and he’s a big supporter of the local area.
He’s often out and about in town and always says hello to local people. He’s not stuck up and doesn’t wander around like he’s better than anyone else.

If you’re talking about the large charity shop I think you are ( as there aren’t many here) then maybe it’s because there’s never room to move in there. People are constantly bumping into things or others it’s just so cluttered.

Edited

That’s the area I’m talking about, and those are the stories I’ve been told by multiple family members.

I never actually called him stuck up.

I think people are can have different experiences of a person.

To all the Bob defenders I’m not claiming he has no good days / positive points or that I know him better than anyone else 😂

You know how, on The Apprentice, Lord Sugar has two colleagues who each follow one of the teams around throughout the task weeks, and report their observations and the sales figures back to him before somebody is fired?

Well, by all accounts, Tim Campbell is a genuinely nice, really pleasant person...

I know Tim and have worked with him, and I can confirm he is a lovely man. Very humble, always smiley, and doesn’t forget where he’s come from.
