Anyone worked for someone famous?

I’m working in a company for an influencer/z list celeb. She’s well known in a certain group of people and hangs around with some pretty famous faces. She has her own fashion company.

I don’t report into her, but work closely with her and she is an utter bitch. The way she comes across on social media is so…different. Her intern films her for content daily and she puts on such a smiley show. When the camera is off, she’s rude, demanding, bitches about everyone in the team, including members of the team that go above and beyond to make her business a success and make her happy…I could go on.

she contradicts herself constantly, making me feel like I’m going mad. I know if I died tmrw she wouldn’t care. She cares only about herself and her success. She’s not even nice about her husband, who is such a lovely guy.

I want to get out this company asap. It’s just difficult to know where to go and what to do next so in the meantime…has anyone else experienced similar?

I have lost all respect for this woman. She is awful and everyone that works for her knows it.

Ooh Christopher Timothy’s elderly mother lived very near to my DPs, my DM used to chat to her and his DM admitted that he never visited her, she used to get upset about it but gave him excuses. By complete coincidence, he went to a friend’s cafe (completely different county) and apparently his behaviour was vile, very rude and entitled and horrible to someone who asked for his autograph.

A lot of negatives about Christopher Timothy, I must have caught him on a good day as he was very affable and chatty. Funny how unpredictable people are.

I've met Davina McCall through work and she was nice, and not shouty!

Also have regular dealings with one of the interviewers on The Apprentice, they come across as really nice, completely the opposite of their tv persona.

Yeah I met Claude Littner once and he was a really nice man

Borracha · 24/04/2025 19:19

I work for a government minister. They are never shy in telling me if they don’t like something I’ve done and they have exceptionally high standards, but they are incredible thoughtful and caring - remember everyone’s name, asks after my children, is always checking in our wellbeing etc

SnoozingFox · 24/04/2025 19:21

Another person here who has worked with Zoe Ball and found her so friendly and lovely.

butterfly0404 · 24/04/2025 19:24

My DP is a professional musician and back in the 90's he played at Wembley Stadium with Steps.
He says they were absolutely lovely, ultra professional, worked their arses off and treated everyone as their equal.

He knew Jimmy Page too, mad as a box of frogs :-)

Met CT and Carol Drinkwater in the 70s they were judging a fancy dress competition. Both lovely and signed autographs.

My dad was a session musician in the 70s and 80s - most of the people he worked with were fine, BUT he didnt have a good word for Van Morrison.

Not many do from what I've heard

Alan Titchmarsh.. didn’t report into him but worked alongside him multiple times. I was young at the time, early 20’s and lost count of the inappropriate comments he made 🫥

I'm not surprised. I've always thought he was an arrogant idiot.

My husband’s uncle used to work for the Aga Khan and Aly Khan (who was married to Rita Hayworth)

A friend’s husband flies private jets, he’s very discreet, but he said Ed Sheeran, take that and tiger woods were all lovely.

I have a friend whose husband is also a private pilot and annoyingly discreet 🤣. He did say that the majority of famous faces are nice though.

Dh has done some work for the Beckhams. Apparently, Victoria is very uptight about what she eats, but didn’t really spend much time around her to say anything more than that. But David is absolutely lovely. He gets stuck in, helping unload and set up stuff, very regular guy and treats people around him really kindly. Not a bad word to say about him.

I also did some work with (not for) Alan Cumming and he is also as lovely and sweet as you would imagine.

Edited

I have heard on the grapevine that David Beckham is genuinely a nice guy.

Bob geldof’s daughter died of an accidental heroin overdose in 2014. My son died of an accidental heroin overdose in 2016.
of course it hurts, I think of my son every hour of everyday. So many things trigger memories of him. But, do you know what, my son would want me, and the rest of our family to be happy. He really would. So we are.

I am truly sorry for your loss. I have also lost a son in tragic circumstances and I don’t believe it gives me licence to act like an arsehole. You never know the burden other people are carrying so shouldn’t take your losses out on them.

IbizaToTheNorfolkBroads · 24/04/2025 20:02

Friend worked at Kew Gardens, David Attenborough was often in her building. She says she was always too star struck to speak to him, but he did once let her go first at the photocopier because he had loads to do.

My aunt was a receptionist for a well known at the time hairstylist. Mr teasy weasy, who invented the kiss curl. He was very lovely apparently.

Mr Teasy Weasy?

Did you just make this up?

Anyone ever met Stacey she seems lovely on Loose Women

DS was her postie for a while - he said she was very friendly in the brief interactions they had.

CatherineCawoodsbestie · 24/04/2025 20:08

I have worked a lot with Davinia McCall. She is a sweetheart to everyone. Kind and warm with everyone, no side to her at all. She is very hard working and committed to her work. And agree with pp - not shouty, but work persona certainly is upbeat and happy.

Poppymeldrum · 24/04/2025 20:09

David Tennant
My dd once met him and he was so rude to her
I had my arse handed to me on here because she shouldn't have bothered to ask for an autograph apparently (she was only 16 and a massive fan)
I just say, your only as big as your fans make you and he lost one that day
Dickhead

I know of a few people who work for the Duke of Westminster. Reports I have had on the former Duke and new Duke, Hugh have been very positive. They seem remarkably down to earth.

I can confirm that the late Duke of Westminster was absolutely lovely.

LovePeriodProperty · 24/04/2025 20:16

I’ve worked for famous Architects but they are probably only famous in the world of Architecture.

I did design Madonna’s wardrobe ( the actual wardrobe not the clothes) though…..that was mindlessly boring! Plus I didn’t get paid!!!!!

LovePeriodProperty · 24/04/2025 20:17

I also worked for the Duke of Bedford as an Architect.

ThisWOMANWontWheesht · 24/04/2025 20:20

Not worked for exactly, but served Oliver Reed several times in a pub in Wimbledon many moons ago. He was courteous, dry sense of humour, sometimes snappy, but would then smile.
And he drank. A LOT.

ChampagneBlossom44 · 24/04/2025 20:20

@AnotherNaCha i was literally about to type out my own experience of this woman when i read your comments, she was awful, awful. To this day I have never had an experience with someone so nasty, spiteful, entitled. Awful. She’s the only client I’ve ever cried about, there was no reasoning with this woman, it was like dealing with seriously mentally ill aggressive unhinged person who seemed to want to ruin my career as if it were a sport, even though I was there to help her. She honestly enjoyed being nasty I think. Her attitude was the worst I’ve come across & I was so pleased when her business failed (not because of me, thank god, she was just that bad that word spread & no buyers would take her product even though it was actually VERY good). She deserved that’s & more. I am so sorry for what happened to your friend.

she came across so lovely in ok & hello magazine interviews when she was in that football soap opera thing. I was really not prepared for the reality of her, I was about 24 years old & didn’t have the confidence to just nope out.

Whatthechicken · 24/04/2025 20:22

I used to exercise the horse of one of the bodyguards that looked after Dodi and Diana. He was a lovely man, never talked about his work ever. I wouldn't have known if someone else hadn't have told me.

Someone always pops on a thread to say that, whenever anyone dares to mention that women can be cruel.

I'm 40 . I've worked in many different jobs. In many different places.

The women have been the same in every job. I've seen groups of women gang up on , amd bully some woman in every job I've been in.

The female managers have always been worse than the men.

In my opinion, the bad side of men is they can be physically and sexually destructive.

The bad side of women is that women can be emotionally destructive. You never see men isolate and bully a man in the workplace I've seen women do it so so so many times.

@Kellybonita seriously no one cares, sorry if that makes me a bitch and confirms your theory but read the room.
