What's been your happiest moment of the week?

Feels like there's a lot of doom & gloom in the world at the mo... Sometimes it's nice to hear the good things that are happening in people's lives for balance 😊

I can’t believe I’m going to say this but getting back to the gym after a week away. It was as much all the good mornings I got as well as the work out. Felt connected again.

PenniesButton · 13/04/2025 10:30

Went for a lovely dog walk with DW in the sunshine, dogs behaved, I had the energy to walk without struggling, we chatted away and it was just really nice. Felt so good to have the sunshine on my face.

ladybird30 · 13/04/2025 13:12

@BitOutOfPractice I can completely relate! A good gym session can be so refreshing for your mind

@PenniesButton Yes, the sunshine has been such a joy hasn't it!? I went down to the beach twice this week in the sun and it was just pure happiness with my little family

Watching the sunset with the full moon rising, with DC and dogs.

I’ve had a shitty week but speaking to DD (26) on FaceTime this morning has cheered me right up. She currently lives on the other side of the world so I miss her but she’s having such a great adventure it made me so happy to see her thriving 😊

Candlekiax · 13/04/2025 13:17

We went on a family nature walk on Friday through the local woodland, beautiful sunny day. DD3 is mesmerized by butterflies and we saw so many, as well as dragonflies.

Right now - I’m sitting on the sofa watching Easter Parade, I’ve got washing drying outside, I’m going to visit family on Friday and I’m seeing a wonderful friend next week - not seen her in 2 years, I cannot wait.

Lovely thread idea.

i handed in my notice last week for a new very different nursing role. My managers reaction was very much “didnt care” after 7 years there and often going above and beyond. Staying beyond my normal al 12.5 hours often. Taking charge when no one else will as a lowly band 5.

however, every single one of the consultants I’ve worked with on my 4 shifts this week have said some lovely things to me “the unit is losing one of its best nurses, you’re an amazing nurse you will be missed”

made me feel a bit more valued as part of the team.

we also got the date DH will be home from sea (in 17 days!) we never normally know. It’s always short notice of him going, and coming back. So we’ve booked a holiday 😁

BigDahliaFan · 13/04/2025 15:31

I’ve got a few rare days to myself at home, I’m enjoying gently tuning down invitations, dog walking, gardening and eating what I want to eat…..it’s bliss.

I won a photography competition I’d forgotton I entered.

DaphneduM · 13/04/2025 15:43

Reading my book outside - hearing the sound of a little waterfall into the pond and looking up at the clear blue sky through the magnolia and cherry blossom in my little garden.

Looking after my smiley, cute little grandson and hearing him chattering away.

Breakfast out with my husband.

Receiving photos of my family on their holiday, having a wonderful time.

Taking delivery of a wonderful new silk and wool Max Mara cardigan, complete with tags via Vinted. Such a bargain.

Such a lovely, happy week and I'm so grateful as life hasn't always run smoothly.

Tarkan · 13/04/2025 16:06

Our local football team won their league last night. The atmosphere was amazing and we all got to run onto the pitch to celebrate afterwards and it was just the most amazing experience.

Lovely to hear so many lovely moments!!

I've had a pretty rubbish week.

My happiest moment this week hmmm. Two moments stand out and I couldn't pick between them.

The first one was talking to my mum about something that it happened when I was little. (too complicated to explain.)

And the other one was actually a post on here, a poster who is going on holiday with her family and it's the first time she's ever been overseas, she was good with excitement and it was so lovely to read 😊

I suppose they were a couple of other really good moments as well, some lovely photos from my best friend who lives overseas and I missed terribly and some lovely photos of another good friends Dog and garden things like that. But in general, it was a rubbish week and the happy poster really didn't make my day!!

faerietales · 13/04/2025 16:15

Got two new, much wanted piercings.
Spent a lovely day in the sunshine with DH - a walk along the harbour, lunch with a view, a stop at the pub on the way home with the dog.
Went out with my mum for a dog walk, followed by lunch and an ice-cream by the beach.
Spent time with my best friend, just catching up and having a cuppa.
Had a lovely, chilled out day at home (today) that feels really productive and now I just feel super content in my own space.

EveryDayisFriday · 13/04/2025 16:16

Usually a slow work Tuesday around 11.30am when the kids are at school/ college and DH is at work. I have already planned my work week, no meetings on a Tuesday, if it's quiet I can get my house and home admin straight and usually have an hour or 2 to chill in the afternoon. Makes me feel on top of my game.

EveryDayisFriday · 13/04/2025 16:17

This week however was any number of days I was sat reading in the sun with a glass of wine on my holidays.

Bluevelvetsofa · 13/04/2025 16:18

The wonderful bloke creating a garden for us has worked like a Trojan and I can look at plants instead of just grass.

Chickoletta · 13/04/2025 16:20

Reading a really good novel on a lounger in my garden in the sunshine.

TheChosenTwo · 13/04/2025 16:23

Finally getting in the lake for my swim and not hurting with the cold! It’s been wonderful this week.
Also ds coming home from his school trip with a suitcase of dirty washing and a little snowglobe for dh and I!

readingismycardio · 13/04/2025 18:12

One year old is taking his first steps unasissted!

Sallycinnamum · 13/04/2025 18:24

Spent the last week away in Suffolk with DH and 2 teen DC.

We had such a lovely few days away together in the sunshine eating chips on the beach and playing games in the evening. It was a very mixh needed chance for us to spend some time together.

Got back and had a huge clearout of my kitchen and lounge, which is always good for my soul. Hate mess and clutter!

ICanTellYouMissMe · 13/04/2025 18:25

Went to a car meet and took some amazing photographs. It’s my very favourite thing and I love it more than I can say.

HouseofDreams · 13/04/2025 18:29

Preposterious · 13/04/2025 18:40
