What do you think looks, or is, trashy? In terms of appearance AND character?

Interested in reading a wide range of opinions. Not intended as a goady thread - I've posted to widen my own perspective.

Tattoos, obvious botox, excessive make up, fake nails, young (and older) women dressing like a male drag artist, chunky, jingly jewellery, flashing cash.

I guess people who have obviously gone overboard on cosmetic enhancements/surgery.

Very heavy makeup in anyone who isn't a teen goth.

Orange looking fake tan.

Clothes that are too small for the wearer, or the weather?!

Lots of jewellery on men.

These are all just sartorial or personal appearance based. I certainly wouldn't dismiss those people as arseholes, but I'd imagine we may have little in common. I think if I had friends who went for that look then I'd stop being so prejudiced against it. But a lot of those things just don't look good to me at all.

I do like certain things that many would not. I like men in kilts with mohawks, I like brightly coloured hair other people, alternative/punk kind of styling. So each to their own I guess!

Tattoos, coloured hair, revealing clothes, multiple piercings, head to toe in designer logos; balenciaga, obvious Botox, or obvious lip filler

Anywhere where there are small gardens very close together should not have a hot tub.

So, a terraced house of any description with enough room to place a hot tub where the neighbours can't see or hear the f*ing monstrosity would actually be fine.

A detached mansion with a hot tub within sight and hearing of neighbours or passers by, not fine.

My trashy neighbours have one and I have to avoid looking out my window lest I damage my eyes when they are boobing about in it. And it drowns out the birdsong even when they're not in it, with its constant infuriating hum.

The modern female face that looks like a blow- up sex-doll.

Massive filler lips, astonished black eyebrows and big false lashes with the full make-up and contour.

Lip filler.
Lip liner.
Giant thick gold hoop earrings.

Anything from Temu/Shein.

Amputations?? What on earth??

@Foughtabadgerandwon what I find even worse than neighbours with a hot tub is when your 5 adult neighbours are all sat in a children’s paddling pool with a low fence all because the sun has decided to pay a visit!! Not cool 😎

Paddling pools are scumm of the earth.

This plus men covered in tattoos driving the usual brands of car that might not be affordable or is blinged up as if a body kit and a tinted windscreen makes the car look good. Usually the driver has a baseball cap on and the brim is on the wearers neck. Ok on a teen not a 40 yr old

I find lots of behaviour trashy. I'm quite the judgemental cow. Appearances can be very deceiving, I've been proven wrong in assumptions enough in my life to not judge on looks anymore.

But some behaviour in public makes my eyebrow raise.

People who don't say thank you or acknowledge being let out at junctions/have had a door held open for them.

Anyone who spends more time looking at their phone than at their dc.

People who put down their loved ones in public.

Grown adults that put their feet up on tables/chairs in a public place.

Skin coloured leggings - particularly if scrunch ones. I wouldn't assume that the wearer themselves were trashy though. Same with lip fillers, extra long fake nails and lashes, and obvious botox and fillers to the face.

Duck pouts

Loud people who barge in front of everyone/anyone/me anywhere and don't apologise.

I couldn't give a rats whether you're covered in tattoos or Mrs Bouquet. A lack of consideration for other people is trashy behaviour.

And low fences, apparently. If there's an amputee nearby, there goes the neighborhood.

Wtf is a cosmetic amputation? Are you saying people remove legs that are aesthetically unpleasant?

This thread got me thinking. When did tats and a nose piercing become so conventional ? Like back in the 80s, a woman with tats and a nose ring was definitely considered to be giving 2 fingers to the concept of feminine beauty. Now everybody and their dog has one, plus the pumped up lips, plastered on makeup and teeny tiny look at me lads dresses. It’s as far from being punk and rebellious as it could be.

This is nothing to do with looks or personality but it irritates me so I'll include it.

People not pronouncing vowels in words or names . Icelnd for Iceland. Jessca rather than Jessica. Gabe-rl rather than Gabriel.

People choosing names for their kids that they clearly can't pronounce or are pronounced lazily I once heard Lizbi ' (Elizabeth) bellowed and also Chaaarlit (Charlotte). Wether you personally like them or not they're both beautiful names if you're going to use them either shorten them or say them clearly.

Those people have problems and trashy is the least of them.

Trashy is an unpleasant judgment statement usually aimed at women, often who are not rich or thin enough.

Wealthy women are often described as elegant, chic or fashionable even when another women wearing exactly the same thing might be called trashy.
