I don’t know which cat to gift my friend!

I always planned to give her the siamese. I was keeping the black and my 13yr old claimed the calico one. Whichever one I send, will have its own box. I just haven’t made the 3rd one yet (it’s so much BROWN!).

Now I’ve made them and I’m looking at them, I think my friend would prefer the black one, but I wanted to keep that one for myself! She doesn’t know about them so I don’t really want to ask her which one she wants as that would ruin the surprise. What do I do?

Um, are you quite sure your friend will want a weird knitted cat?

I would.

I think they are all very gorgeous but I think the siamese is the cutest.

My mum ( sadly no longer around) would have loved to make these, she was fantastic at knitting and crocheting. She loved cats too!

I have a load of knitted and crocheted cakes she once made, she did about 3 sets of them in the end as everyone wanted them.

My mum also knitted and crocheted me several cakes, carrots. and a family of bees. She also knitted me a John McCririck 😆😆😆

My mum knitted etc loads, but never a John McCririck!

Funniest thing was, I used to belong to a breastfeeding support group when my kids were babies and she knitted some boobs, in various skin tones, to use as demonstration aides! The woman in charge of the group thought they were great.
Mum said she had a few odd looks when she was knitting them!

@AintNobodyHereButUsChickens I do love your cats though, as a frequent poster on The litter Tray threads!

Here is the siamese in a box. Do you think it looks okay or too much brown?

Contrast coloured box would be better imo

I would want the black one but only because I have a real black one

Me too.

tillytoodles1 · 02/04/2025 19:21

OP, do you sell them?

Pianoaholic · 02/04/2025 19:23

I think OP could start a business, based on the answers on this thread!

There were a few knitted boobs at the BFing group I used to take my DC to when they were babies 😁

When you say you like my cats, you mean these goofballs?

OP, do you sell them?

Not really, it’s a difficult business, selling crocheted things. Most people aren’t prepared to pay for your time to make them you see, I’m a slow worker so each cat took me around 10 hours each, not including their respective boxes! I’ll make the odd thing for a friend but that’s about it.

I meant the crocheted ones, but your real cats are lovely too!

Oh that's a shame, they're gorgeous.

What did you end up deciding @AintNobodyHereButUsChickens?

I haven’t sent her it yet as I’m making her a few bits and haven’t quite finished the last thing yet. But I’ve decided I’m going to send her the black one. I just know she’ll absolutely love it. I’ll just have to make myself another black one 🤣

Siamese are very independent so they might do best on their own.

I’m not sure crocheted cats will mind 😊
