I don’t know which cat to gift my friend!

I always planned to give her the siamese. I was keeping the black and my 13yr old claimed the calico one. Whichever one I send, will have its own box. I just haven’t made the 3rd one yet (it’s so much BROWN!).

Now I’ve made them and I’m looking at them, I think my friend would prefer the black one, but I wanted to keep that one for myself! She doesn’t know about them so I don’t really want to ask her which one she wants as that would ruin the surprise. What do I do?

The thing is, they’re supposed to be cardboard boxes (cos cats like boxes!) I’m kicking myself now for using a similar brown to the boxes for the siamese cat, I should’ve used cream 🤦🏼‍♀️

Maybe I’ll just ditch the boxes completely 🤔

I think they’re really lovely and I would be so thrilled if anyone had made one for me. I think my favourite is the black one, followed by calico, but there’s not much to choose between them - they’re all gorgeous and i expect I’m just saying that because my cat is black. I agree that the Siamese would look even nicer if he had a different colour box. You could probably make quite a bit if you made them to sell on Etsy. I would buy one!

I would add a bright collar for the black one or a smiley nose maybe, otherwise it looks a bit menacing/sad.

Perhaps the simaese could be sat on a cushion? I feel a cardboard box is a bit beneath such a regal creature!

It looks really cute with its wee paws on the edge of the box. Actually looks a slightly different shade but maybe just the lighting or different stitch. I'm sure your friend will be chuffed whatever you decide

Are they door stoppers? Because that would be an excellent idea. You can fill the box with rice.

The Siamese is actually my favourite, so if I were you, I'd go with the original gifting plan... I presumed 'too much brown' was just that you're bored of crocheting one colour, but if it's 'cos the cat's brown as well, could you make a green box, like fruit comes in... with oranges or bananas on it? Sorry if I've just tripled your workload!!

Well, if you gave him to me, I would absolutely adore him (the brown one is my favourite) and I'd love the little box, but being honest I'd probably use the little box for rings or something and keep the wee cat separate.

If you're able to pop into any charity shops, you might find some of the eyes there, the one nearest me doesn't do much in the way of craft stuff, but it does have a couple of baskets and they always seems to be eyes in it!!

I have had something happen to my dominant hand and I can't crochet or knit now. It's one of my. 'Long-term goals' to be able to do both again, but at the moment it seeming more like a dream than a goal 🙇🏻‍♀️🙇🏻‍♀️. So make what you can while you can you just never know....

That was actually what I meant! That I was fed up of using brown so I was having a break from using it. Then everyone assumed I meant the siamese in a brown box was too brown and then I saw what they meant 😅
